on a bad DL, who cares?

I wasn't making that point to you

And I didn't say he sucked

never said you did, nor did I gather that from what I'd read.

he didn't have the impact I thought he would. And a lot of that was likely due to his enormous gut.

perhaps. when Chavis got here I kinda figured he'd be more of a 3rd down specialist since big John seems to like his DTs to mainly hold the point and keep the LBs free. maybe he'll be his new Mahelona in '10.

I see it a bit differently. We know what DN brings to the table and he is solid. But the Tigers need someone who's more than solid on the Dline and it's a good bet that that someone or someones will come from the following group: Davenport, Downs, Brockers, Montgomery, Edwards and the TF Marsh. Nevis and Levingston are capable guys but have been around long enough to have stepped up higher if they were capable. Hope they surprise me though.

I think its a lack of coaching on the DL. There is no reason why Nevis has not been as dominant as the Dorsey/Wroten/Kye Williams of the past. he is a very good player that seems unmotivated and the key to DL is the motor. The best example is Jared Allen. he is very good, but he also never stops. Also go back and look at the Ole Mis game and tell me why for 4 straight quarters rahim Alem just blows up the field and Mccluster runs a stretch play right under him. No adjustments.

I am looking foward to our DL creating pressure. This pass season was unexceptable.
