I can tell you when the new dean of the School of Music was hired, the faculty hiring committee didn't even want to interview him, as they felt other candidates were much more qualified. The provost overruled them. Not only was he interviewed, but hired. The provost has since been fired, and now the LSU SOM is stuck with this guy, who, by all accounts is in over his head. This and the way she's been treated since has a lot to do with Dr. Moorhouse leaving.

Shocking since she has served "under" Frank Wickes for so long. I guess she felt like she had earned the job for "laying" low for so many years. Someone else will have to teach Tiger Band the same stadium songs they have been playing for 25 years and teach them those sultry Latin marching numbers.

Sounds like business as usual for the good ole boy network at LSU.

LSU looks like its in really bad shape with these budget cuts lately. When you start losing good and loyal people, thats a tell tale sign.

Well in regards to the Dean of the College of Music and Dramatic Arts, idiot is an understatement. The Chair of the Department of Theatre has already accepted a job at Univ of Kentucky, Linda leaving, and his use of funds for a "awarding winning website" instead of properly funding the Theatre program and allowing great faculty in both departments to be hired away is just sad. Kaptain is an dumbass, hopefully he gets hired away because if not this is only going to get worse.

Let's not forget that she also eviscerated and expelled JUMAS ten years ago or so. It took her over 15 years to do it, but she did it.
Also, what most of y'all fail to see, is that there are obviously recruiting violations that have been going on. I think it has something to do with a trumpet player from Florida receiving improper benefits. Everyone is leaving because the shoe is about to drop on the LSU Music program.

This will allow the band to make huge strides forward. She's a nutcase and has mainly devoted each halftime show to the dance performance, hence the garbage high school level music. Good riddance.

Hey it worked so why blame her? She is a good director and does not need to sleep with anyone to get where she is. She writes the shows, picks music, and runs a great program. Look at the Golden Girls, she may be a bitch about it, but people love looking at our Golden Girls.
Linda was hard on me when I was in band, but was always fair and I have a ton of respect for her and the discipline that she gave me!
