I'm a crim defense lawyer in Nola. This sentence is a joke. Drug dealers routinely get probation on first offense. Plus this state can ill afford to lock up more people for stupid bullshite like this. More tax dollars. The guy was punished. He lost his job, he's been ridiculed, and he's getting sued. Stupid to throw him in prison. He should've gotten probation.
