Does our defense have a problem with slant patterns?
Long time lurker and SEC fan here, especially LSU football. This may be my first post.

Serious question here for more knowledgable football fans. I was at a sports bar last night and one of the sports channels had a segment on LSU defense defense against slant patterns. The sound was turned off so I didn't hear a word the commentator said. But they posted some graphics which concerned me. From what I recall LSU is something like 125th in defending against slant patterns.

So, a few questions:

1. Is that true, or is there another side to the story?
2. If it is true, how hard is it to remedy? Can Aranda change our defensive formation, or are there real weaknesses in our talent?

Most defenses have a problem with short slants. The key is making the tackle and not letting them bust it open.

I’m pretty sure any defense would have a problem covering those Bama receivers on slants. The same can be said about our WRs too though.

Slants will kill us. Tua is best slant passer I've seen besides RussellWilson. Not being able to defend the slant will cost us the game.

Lol. You gonna watch just in case you are wrong? Or, are you just writing the game off?
