I'm not sure about that but I appreciate your comments. I try to just look at the fact. LSU played BAMA to the wire the last two years and last year Alabama had a QB that was a third year starter and y'all had a freshmen that had never played and y'all took us to overtime.

This year y'all had a new QB again and we also had a new QB but he had been in our system 4 years and that counts for something.

I look at the first year that Miles played Saban and no doubt LSU had the better, more talented, and more experienced team and y'all won. I don't think that made Saban a bad coach it just meant he was outmatched.

Miles came into a hostile environment against a coach that was actually loved at one time by the entire LSU fanbase and kicked Alabama's arse at home.

The guy hasn't forgotten how to coach and I can promise you that as an Alabama fan that has watched his team suck for almost 20 years, the grass is not always greener.

Miles is a top tier coach in the toughest conference in the country and y'all only lost to the #1 and #2 teams in the country and played both of us on our heels. the Ole Miss loss came after the Al and Fl loss so it can't be fairly evaluated. Kids on a team like LSU go into theseason thinking about the NC not the Outback bowl and when a team like LSU loses control of their own destiny and sees their hopes of a possible NC run fall to the side an unwxpected loss is not unusual. See BAMA in the Sugar Bowl last year. Do you honestly think Alabama was thinking Sugar bowl after going 12-0 in the SEc.

I just like coach MIles and I think he represents the SEC as well as LSU with a lot of class and he does the right thing theright way and for that he should be commended. If y'all were 6-6 with the talent y'all have I would say you need to fire his arse but y'all are a good football team. By the standards y'all have set on MIles we should have fired coach Bryant about 5 times.

Just my opinion.

I'm not as high on Miles as you are, but you show a lot of class on this board.

It makes it easier to hold my nose and root for Bama in the NCG.

The FACT that Les just hired two coaches away from Tennessee and Florida proves your opinion wrong.

Not really. Tennessee is in trouble and Wilson would do anything to get back to LA. Les is a punch line for national media. Just google his name. Most teams in the SEC hope he stays here forever.

Unfortunately, the "he's our dumbass" mentality has a price.

A coach would not leave a new staff with security like UT's for a sinking ship with a joke at the helm as some of you portray LSU.

Well, that settles it... He must be a sorry coach if the blog media with all of their vast football coaching experience and knowledge make fun of him.

Have you seen the news? Tennessee is in trouble, I didn't say LSU was a sinking ship but TN is in a worse position than LSU right now. There is little security there. Lane Kiffin is a much bigger clown than Les.

Les was a joke on ESPN for a week after the Ole Miss game. Not just the blogs. Even the name "the hat" was not coined to be positive. I know it's hard for "positiger" homers to swallow. But Lester is a clown to most everyone but "positigers." Yes that alone doesn't make him a bad coach. His poor decision making and squandering of talent does.

For all the people who say Miles is the worst coach in History, that he's a joke and needs to be fired based on his recent record...i know these FACTS won't matter. no Miles is not our dumbass, he is our head coach. It is people like you that two years removed from a NC want to get rid of him, that is the kind of people that piss me off you and all of your friends.

OK

We barely beat Tennessee and could have lost if they would have had a kicker and Tennessee is what, 7-5 and Auburn killed them

We beat LSU but there was a bad call in the game at a crucial time and it could have been gamechanging.

We barely beat Auburn and had to come from behind and win in the last two minutes, also a 7-5 football team.

LSU played a lot better game against Alabama than Florida did so why is Meyer not being questioned.

The problem for coach Miles is that every move he makes is criticized and compared to Saban and that is unfair in my opinion. The guy has a NC and gets absolutely no credit at all and I call bullshite on that. He didn't forget how to coach a fricking football game.

What is the world coming to when a Bama fan has more sense than most LSU fans?

btw: I didn't call scoop a Gump

Navtiger1,

I have pointed this out about coach Bryant on several occasions.

He came to Alabama in 1958 and 1969 and 1970 were terrible years. There were actually fans wanting him to be fired. They said he was old and didn't have it any more. some said the game of football had passed him by. the next year he iplemented the wish bone and the rest is history. He won the SEC the rest of the decade.

I have also compared Miles to coach Bryant on here on more than one occasion and people laugh at me about that but I don't care. I think the man is a class act and he has been a lot better to LSU than the fans (some fans) have been to him. He has faced adversity since day one (Katrina) at LSU and has handled himself with complete class.

Some parents may not care who their son plays for but if I had a son that was about to leave home for four years I wouldn't mink knowing that a man like coach Miles was going to be in his corner every day while I was not around. I would take comfort in knowing that if a member of the team acted like Ryan P. that the coach would get him away from my son instead of making excuses for him just so he could win a football game.

Most of these kids will never play pro ball and in the end the character instilled in them by their family and then expanded upon by a man like Miles is what will result in them being successful in life.

Props to Miles from me, he is a class act.

P.S. To the other poster, I don't mind being called a gump, hell I am a gump. I am swimming in the crimson Kool-ade right now and I just hope it doesn't come crashing down january 7th or I may need treatement.

scoop your post about the bear is what made me think about the records...so i guess you could say i was defending your point. Down years happen for every coach. two years does not mean the sky is falling. granted if it continues then yes by all means show him the door, but 2 years does not make the end of the world.

For all the Talk of Saban dominating Miles for the foreseeable future...Saban has yet to show that he can be a care taker of a program. He is a hell of a builder, but has not stayed long enough in one place to show that he can hold it all together over time. So, to say he will dominate the SEC is ridiculous.

I agree. I hope Saban stays but who knows what he will do. I will enjoy him while he is here. I have aften compared Saban's success in football to my experience in college.

There were a lot of people in class at the beggining of the sememster that would make an A on the first test, they may even do ok on the second test but it is the guy that can stay disciplined enough to continue to make A's throught the semester that is the true champion in the classroom. In Saban's career he has yet to make an A because he as always dropped the class.

I hope Alabama is his first A but I guess we will see.
