Cannon was the #1 pick in the NFL also even though he played in the AFL to start his career. Funny story about him signing a contract with both the AFL and NFL after the draft. The Rams filed suit and a Judge ruled against the Rams.

And crews would have been the #1 this year if not for Skenes. Amount of talent that has come thru is unreal. Even Simmons was generationally talented……….obviously he has issues but talent is not one of them.
