But he does have a definite slick salesman feel to him ... and he cries often.

The only way to fix our defense is to get rid of dumb and dumber and hire a good DC. End.

So if we get a new DC with our superior players, won't things be OK?

Sure, although we need to get a real monster LB or two to be really good like we were in the 80's, unless we can go to the ridiculous Marquise/Lavalais/Chevis/LaRon strategy of 2003 (but that combination of talent doesn't come along very often).

The idea is to give Miles an ultimatum.

I was referring to Meyer himself in response to a Gator fan.

The co Defensive Coordinator thing has been a problem. But it concerns me how little accountability there has been regarding the QB situation.

I realize they have all / were inexperienced. However, QB play has been bad -- they look like they aren't even prepared.

Combine that with terrible play calling and you have the offense. There is really no reason why the offense should throw more than 20 times a game. Think Roethlisberger his first two years in Pitt.

Miles should seriously consider hiring a QB coach to assist with what will be a group of 5 very unproven players.

Just an opinion. It just seems that since Crowton is the QB coach and Crowton is the play caller he should shoulder some responsibility here.

Jefferson has only played once, but Lee certainly didn't progress in any way as the season went on.
Maybe a QB coach would allow Crowton to spend more time game planning.

You're right. The offense was expected to be able to be able to run the ball down other teams' throats, and with the exception of the Auburn and Alabama games, the running game has been below expectations in SEC play.

So the pressure ends up being put on newbie QBs. Think about it ... Friday's game in Little Rock will mark the 5th different starter at QB for LSU in its last 10 SEC games. That's not easy to do, and all things considered, the LSU offense has done pretty well this year given the circumstances.

Not to say that there aren't significant problems, that many players aren't underperforming, and that Crowton hasn't made some mistakes, but everything is correctable and basically okay in the long-run. The same cannot be said of the defense.

Yes, the two DC thing MUST go this off season. It's a ridiculous failed experiment.
