South Carolina fans are passionate and travel surprisingly well even for mid-tier bowl games. I have enough Auburn friends that I can root for their happiness although Hugh Freeze can jump off the GNO if he wants to. Flame away but my dad went to A&M and I am intrigued that if they won the championship, or even a big game, would the Earth stop spinning on its axis or something??

No.
frick those guys.
In a perfect world, UGA and Texas would have both lost last weekend.

Short answer? No, it wouldn't.

And I won't fault you for having a family connection that predisposes you to pull for aTm, either (although you'll certainly get poked at by others for doing so).

The biggest issue other SEC fans have with Furk University is that they came in to the SEC expecting to dominate from day 1 - and let everyone and their brother know what they thought. And, year after year, when they didn't do squat they still kept up their self-delusional egotistic banter.

Everyone wants to see a bully get poked in the nose. But more than that, everyone really wants to see a pansy-arse bigmouth get punched in the teeth when they finally FAFO. Unfortunately for us, aTm doesn't have the self-awareness to understand that a bit of humility would go a long way to improving their general perception other members of the SEC family have towards them.

USCe, Arky, Miss. State, and even Vandy don't rise to the level of snot-nosed brattyness displayed by the Fightin' Milkmen of Furk University. Which is why most folks I know don't mind those other teams when they're good OR bad (execpt for weeks when they're the opponents).

aTm could learn a thing or two about humility and hubris from other SEC teams that are still struggling to get to the mountaintop. Unfortunately, I haven't met a single Aggy student or graduate that wasn't a koolaid-swilling cult member fully embracing the "WRTC" delusion of the overall aTm football program.

Your family may be different. You may be different. I hope so.

I usually pull for SEC teams in bowl games. If we're going to argue that SEC is toughest conference, then SEC needs to win those games.
