No. Not a fan of Crowton but Davis is not the answer.

Why is Greg Davis so despised? Honestly. I have no idea. Until this year, he had an offense ranked in the top 20 in scoring for a solid decade, without exception. He has a reputation for developing QB's. We know his head coach wasn't the guy running the scheme. The guy has a tremendous track record of quantifiable success.
Yet he is absolutely loathed by the school he has coached at for a decade and is considered untouchable by most observers. I'm genuinely curious... why is this?

The arrogant tea sips do have this one correct they wanted Davis gone for years..
Davis certainly may not be the premier offensive mind in college football but just because silly Texas fans want him gone doesn't mean a fricking thing. We got plenty of LSU fans who have wanted Miles canned since the day he was hired simply because he doesn't walk around yelling and screaming like some asskicker, although he has a strong winning percentage.

That's the only way he kept his job as long as he did, having 2 of the best college QB's of all time.
Who was the QB coach at Texas? Davis.
This is a fun chicken/egg argument around here.
Crowton sucks because he can't develop a QB.
Davis sucks even though he had two bad arse QBs, it was just luck that they worked out.

Would be an improvement... but I would rather someone with a strong pro style resume.

"He sucked at Texas."
for 13 years and a national championship? Multiple top-10 finishes?

Your opinion on anything football related pretty much sucks.

Every year, Texas has more talent than all but maybe one team they play. And absent two of the best QBs in the past 50 years, the offense has underachieved.
You think we can't understand Crowton's play-calling. You should see UT fans watching a Horns game.

36 points/game in 1998, 34 points/game in 1999, 37 points/game in 2000, 39 points/game in 2001, 33 points/game in 2002, 41 points/game in 2003.
That's underachieved to you?
