The earliest acticle I have found so far with Death Valley name for Tiger stadium is 1961 now and I have not looked back into the 1950's yet.
Clemson was name Death Valley by a sport writer in the late 1940's.
But as I have posted here before, it is my understanding Grantland Rice gave LSU that name in the 1930's. But I can not prove that to this day.
Death Valley became very popular in writing, song and radio by the very early 1930's.

Deaf Valley was insensitive and changed.
Clemson probably stole the idea. It's documented that they stole some from Auburn, think they stole our fight song.
In the old days you could get away with copying people that are miles away. Now it's annoying.

If LSU were first, it would be plastered all over the history of Tiger Stadium (media guide, website, etc.). Their story IS plastered all over the history of their stadium.

You can believe what you want. It was never a big deal until that time. When games became widely broadcast on tv the announcers ran with it. I can assure you there wasn't a sign until that movie.
Thank you. Yes, I will believe what I want, which happens to be the truth.
GTFO with this shite. It's not true.
