As a baseball player, I hated Tulane fans more than the fans of any of our SEC rivals. My daughter is a HS junior and gets 3 or 4 letters from colleges. The only one I have taken and thrown in the garbage is the letter from Tulane. When I bought my first house in South Florida 20+ years ago, my neighbor was a Tulane grad. He complained to my homeowner's association about my Doberman Pinscher. When I caught wind of that, I went out and got another one. I told him that if he complained again I was going to let my Dobermans use their teeth to play tug of war with his Scottish Terrier. Eventually the prick got divorced and moved out. I will always hate Tulane no matter how insignificant they have become.

Having been raised in uptown NOLA (way before the first Morial moved in, sorry, meant to say before the first Morial was elected ) the rivalry was awesome! Those days majority of Tulanians were 'locals' whereas now they are simply Ivy League rejects !

I don't hate either of the schools, like I do Notre Dame or Wisconsin. I absolutely hate ULL and Tulane's fanbases though.

Nearly all Tulane fans seem to really despise LSU, and maybe I can understand why. If you have lost to an in-state school that many times, you are bound to hear some shite. Sure, as an LSU fan, I have nothing against them whatsoever, but maybe I can understand if the shoe was on the other foot.
I think it all stems from athletics and not education. Tulane is just a totally different school from an education standpoint. Sure, they have their flaws in the programs they offer, but it takes a different mindset to pay 25k/year just to go to a school that won't give you a better chance at a job. Heck, most folks I know from there are older, and they are letting the companies foot the bill for a rediculously easy MBA. Athletics is just non-existent for Tulane, and they probably think we're all stupid for actually caring about it.
Then again, they may just hate us for some other odd reason.

I'm too young to know anything about the old days of the rivalry, but I still don't like them.
One of my dad's best childhood friends is a Tulane grad and he relishes in reminding me that Tulane's last undefeated football season is more recent than LSU's by nearly 40 years.
I also remember being at the baseball game in '02 when we lost to them after blowing a 5 run lead. I've enjoyed seeing them lose ever since, no matter what the sport is.

I think the whole sports "rivalry" thing is, well, kinda dumb. Reminds me of this article and this comedy bit.

I wondered when someone was gonna say that. I agree with the guy who said the rivalry stopped in the mid 80's. I was at LSU 79-84 getting 2 degrees and I remember when some greenies let Mike the Tiger out of his little cage. He wandered the campus, played with some small trees and had a fun time until they corralled him in the track stadium and shot him with a tranqilizer gun to get him back home. Good Times!

Meh, Tulane gives out schollies like it is candy. Only douchebags pay full boat. It was cheaper to go to Tulane for law school than LSU thanks to the schollie.
