Obviously, Les is way over his head, in fact I dont believe he could manage a 7-11.
Lets hope he quits today.
Who is your choice to replace him?

he has not "gambled" or taken as many risks as he did in previous years which was his "edge"

You ask if college coaches lose their edge after a few years, yet insinuate in this post Miles really never held an edge, except to gamble and use trick plays with no other input to winning.

What say you about the all those other Ws without a trick or gamble.

considering in year 6 when the program is completely his, we had one of the greatest seasons in LSU history.

Coaches do lose it. But i dont think Miles has going into year 8. If winning two sec titles and a bcs championship is in over his head, than no coach will be able to handle LSU. Its quite comical that before Miles git here, winning the peach bowl was something to go crazy over. Now we are too good for it. Miles has raised the exoectations here. The fans wont be happy until the prigram takes a slude and they forget what winning is like.

here we go again. you guys need to make up ur minds. so we are blaming miles for pelinis d niw rt? The rant wanted bos head after the Asu game. Nick would never had done what Miles did in 05. Not only did nick leave, but he left without doing much recruiting, and on an embarassing bowl loss.

The gulf coast gets ravaged and Les Miles takes his 1 loss Tugers to ATl without having a bye week, and most the players friends and families being severely affected by the hurricanes. Nick only did that once, without mother natures help.

Les then continues to build the program, recruiting well out of state because LA recruiting was down for a few years as a direct result of the hurricanes. He then wins 2 sec champiinships, played in 2 bcs championships and won 1. yet this guy was in over hus head and doesnt deserve to be our coach.

We dont deserve him.

both of your choices are wrong. miles is not in over his head nor has he become complacent. saban became complacent after the '03 championship and wanted to go NFL. maybe that's the one you meant.

Miles was in over his head from the beginning (ASU and Tenn games in '05), but he fought through it and had a great team in '06 and '07 (with Saban's recruits and Jimbo Fisher/Bo Pellini) but still managed to lose 2 games each of those years.

I suppose Katrina and Rita had nothing to do with a coach seeming "in over is head" in his first two games at a new school??? Nah, moving a home game to Arizona or another to a Monday was a logistical cakewalk. Any decent coach would have pulled those wins off like clockwork. Nevermind that he reeled off 9 wins in a row (something Saban never did at LSU and Miles has done TWICE), and got that team to Atlanta at 10-1 and #3 team in the country before running out of gas.

Clearly in over his head

And Miles "managing" to lose 2 games in 06 and 07??? Oh, the horror. Two top 5 teams on the road in dogfights (one the eventual NC) and two 3OT losses to 8 win bowl teams with plenty of NFL talent clearly means Miles had to "manage" to lose those games, as again any decent coach could just steer the wheel at the head of such a Juggernaut (despite Saban only losing less than 3 games ONCE-and even that season he choked away a game by not even showing up at home against Zook).

And of course Miles didn't do anything to "manage" the epic wins against VT, Florida, Auburn, Bama, UT, or OSU, that was all talent and coordinators. Gotcha

REALLY?
The past 3 years we've gone 34-5. Don't give me the whole WELL WE LOST THE GAME THAT MATTERED TO ALABAMA because that's idiotic. A BCS screwjob kept us from completing one of the most dominanting seasons ever in the BCS era.
Miles is one of the best coaches in college football. Saban isn't coming back. Support the great coach we have before all this negativity drives him somewhere he'll be apperciated.

It's far harder to maintain a powerhouse than it is to build one.
