re: Did We Miss the Boat on Hilliard's True Position?

I never said the coaches have it wrong. I'm saying that's it's obvious our rb depth is more talented than our lb depth. In this hypothetical thread, Kenny would work great at mike.
It's not like it's a new thought that rbs and lbers in high school and college are very similar physically.

nobody does a better job than Les Miles and company when it comes to develop ing players

Dude, our LB depth is what everyone has been talking about with a lot of excitement since last year. This is the deepest we have been in a long time at LB.
And I completely agree with that. RBs and LBs are very similar in high school. But thats also just my point. Its in high school. If that were the same in college, you would see a lot of players recruited as LBs playing RB and vice versa. But there isnt that many. Sure there are a couple exceptions. But, because your good at a certain spot in high school doesnt mean in translates to being good at that spot in major SEC football.
Saying Hilliard could of been an all american at LB, while hes an average RB, shows that you think hes at the wrong spot. If a player is at the wrong spot, its the coaches fault.

No they werent. But, Collins was 1 OL out of 5. And a LT, where you usually get the end/DT, not the MLB. I doubt Collins blocked Hilliard every single play. Im sure Hilliard dominated the regular high school guard and center for RHS.
And didnt Patterson play RHS twice that year?? Didnt Hill have over 200 yards the other game??
And thats just 1 team that had 1 good OL and a good RB. The other teams they played had regular high school 3A OL.

You could have said that about Ridley or Ware ....yet both are starting backs in the NFL.
The way Miles uses his RB is a mystery.

Seems to be the general consensus on the rant and I agree.
Can you imagine Welter at the Mike against TAMU, uh-oh

You go back and edit and add four thousand useless words. I'm out. Nfl is coming on, and there's nothing you can say to change my opinion. I don't really care what you think of my opinion. Peace.

Haha ok. Hilliard would be an All American at LB because of what he did in high school.
Im not trying to change your opinion. Just saying opinion is pointless and borderline dumb. And not your opinion that he could play LB. Could he play LB in the SEC? Maybe. I still dont think so but maybe. But saying he would be an all american LB is flat out dumb. So he would of been 1 of the best LBs weve ever had at LSU, but we have him at RB instead?? Thats the part that gets me.
Woo NFLs back

It's odd this trend where RBs have a good year, then the rest of their time at LSU, they regress.

This is right about the time when there is a fire Les rant and the program is being destroyed.
I would really love to see Hilliard succeed and get more reps, need to give the rock to him more late in the game not early. He is a bruiser of a back, pound them when they are gassed. But he stayed true to his roots, he should be rewarded for that sends the right message to recruits going forward.

Hell, Ware even got to throw a TD pass

Once any LSU RB advances past their Freshman season it's downhill from there. Kenny, JHill, Spencer, Blue, etc.
