Did anyone notice our catchers setting up in the middle of the plate every pitch

I don’t remember us doing that all year. Maybe this was strategically done because of the wind and the fact that we wanted to just pitch to contact and throw strikes.

Alex does a outstanding job of framing the pitches and probably has near double digit strikes already

I was asking because I heard Todd walker say something about it this morning and I believe it’s not something we have done before Omaha as much

He's not the offensive liability be was in 2021 when he was virtually useless at the plate.

He could provide a key hit or 2 in these final games.

He's certainly an asset to our pitchers, not only in the sense of giving them confidence to be able to stop any passed balls allowing them to throw anything they need to usually but also giving them a sporting chance at getting the call..
