Agree with long time Tiger. Its not enough he makes the Jack Hunt call but has to go retape it and dub the correct call in. Have you guys listened to other announcers? I do all the time when traveling and Hawthorne this pathetic. Listened to the 1st half of the Washington game while driving. Some examples of Jim at his finest follows.

LSU is penalized from the Washington 40 back to the LSU 45. Oh my gosh that is a 25 yard penalty.

3rd and 1 for Washington just short of the 29. Toss to the running back he crosses the 30 and reaches the 31 it will be close the referees will have to measure??????? OH and a few seconds later he says guess they decided not to measure first down Washington.

That from a drive started after a touchback! He is a joke. LSU has a top flight team and a 3rd class announcer.

Same Hawthorne...nothing new here. I'll actually miss hearing him once he's done.

I think he should have left a few years ago for the reasons posted here and in then past many times. I realize some disagree but one reason I cannot understand is the " he should stay as long as he want he has earned it" like he is some kind of big factor at LSU. IMO no one earns the ability to leave when the want, especially an announcer who is second rate at best. Good guy, probably, done a lot for LSU, sure...stayed way to long due to ego..yes.

John Ferguson and Walter Hill were the guys in my day. Yeah I am on Medi-scare so you know i am dated. But i can remember being glued to the transistor radio breathlessly waiting for the next call and the crowd noise was unbeliveable so much so that you could hardly hear the announcer on the big plays. Things changed a lot since then but the excitement of following the Tigers never ends.
