Preseason First-Team All-American. Manti Te'o was a LB finalist in 2012. And would be lethal in short yardage/wildcat for a few scores if he got a shot.

Gotta intercept a few passes and make a couple of defensive scores for that consideration from a mlb.

A linebacker has NEVER won the Heisman.

I've never understood why defensive players don't get a little more love and attention for Heisman consideration.

because offensive players get way more opportunities for "highlight reel" plays during the course of a season.

D. White has a lot of skills other LBs don't possess.

Given the proper year, it could happen.

Even if he was on the radar screen, would need a competent PR dept. to help create more buzz. Which is sorely lacking at LSU.

Last Defensive Player to win the Heisman was Charles Woodson. It would have to be a down year across the board for QBs/RBs for a LB to even be considered.

When Mathieu didn't win it, I gave up on any defensive players winning it again.*

*unless they play for a media darling

He was a pretty good running back in high school. Power and decent speed.

Let’s say his stats get even better than last year. Has a couple of game winning ints and maybe td or two. Then play him as rb some on goal line and score a couple of game winners....

With a little luck he might get some love IF LSU goes undefeated.

He needs to sack Tua a few times and deliver a highlight reel hit on him (or INT) and he'll get traction.

And have a big game against UGA.

He's actually fast AF. Was good at the 200m in HS and I think lasered in the low 4.4s at The Opening at 255 lbs in HS.

The 2015 campaign for Fournette was pitiful.

The Alabama game sunk that ship.

Yep, if Leonard had 120 yards and 2 TDs vs. Bama, our PR department would've gone full force I think.

I believe they saved their money until that game for a reason.

But regardless, he deserved to be invited that year. That was a snub.

I think the tackle totals go down because he will have more quality around him, but I think he sees a rise in TFLs, sacks and high impact plays because Aranda will be able to cut him loose with the experience and quality around him. Also, with a better DL he won't have to worry about free blockers as much.

Short ydg and goal line with our nasty guards!
