I wouldn’t mind if new coach asked him to stick around.

It should be no surprise. He’s an Aranda protege. If he follows his training he will do fine.
Ed Orgeron is the cancer within the program and his interference is what has cost us 2 years in a row.

Why did the staff wait so long to bring pressure? I’ll never understand. Could’ve been a different season if LSU blitzed like they are now. They have played LSU defense the last two weeks. Beautiful to see

No, he’s now getting to run a defense is more comfortable with.
For two years the DCs had to run Orgeron’s defense. One that from a schematic standpoint for O is “make it look like the USC and Miami defenses from 20-30 years ago.” You’re actually seeing a guy be allowed to coach rather than trying to recreate some fantasy of a football neophyte

From 2017-2019 there were still remnants of a good staff (one that just couldn’t get over the hump because of a stubborn HC). In 2020 O had the chance to FULLY make this his program…you’re seeing the results of that.
It is not a coincidence the defense TOTALLY collapsed once Orgeron got the chance to implement HIS approach and the suddenly became a tremendous unit the moment he stopped directing the approach (last two weeks)
