Considering that Jordan Jefferson is only 19 years old and has only four starts under his belt, I think he's doing a very good job of managing the team. He has not hurt us with costly turnovers and has impressive completion and third down conversion rates. When I stated that I believe Jefferson is not quite ready to compete against teams like Florida, Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia at this time, the key words there were “not quite” and “at this time.” However, as I’ve stated, I believe Jefferson will continue to improve with each game. Saturday’s game against Mississippi State could help Jefferson enormously, and if he has a solid performance in this SEC road game he will be well prepared to take on Georgia the following week. Make no mistake about it, Jefferson certainly has the potential to be an elite SEC quarterback.

He also had another great stat....

I learned yesterday that LSU has the best record in the SEC over the past six seasons. Since the start of the 2003 season, LSU has posted a 67-15 mark, which ranks first among all SEC teams. LSU's 65 wins is four more than second place Georgia. The following is a look at how the SEC stacks up since the 2003 season:

W-L / Bowls / SEC Titles / Top 25s

LSU / 67-15 / 6 / 2 / 5
Georgia / 63-18 / 6 / 1 / 5
Florida / 62-19 / 6 / 2 / 4
Auburn / 58-20 / 5 / 1 / 4

Never understood the complaints about him. He makes the smart decisions most of the time. For a 19 yr. old freshman to already know how to check down, that's huge. He'll get more polished in his accuracy, and will be a great QB

JJ shows confidence and a burning desire to compete out there.

You can tell he's a "team first" kind of QB. That's what a team wants from its leader.

If the running game ever improves, then JJ will start to develop at a faster rate.

The kid's alright.

Racist. Wait, this may actually be a compliment to a black quarterback. I can't remember.

lets see a 200 yard passing game first

Doesn't need to. Just don't throw 7 pick 6's. You do realize without a few of those picks last year we are 9-3 or 10-2 right? How quickly you forget
