so he switches to a school that had a huge meltdown to the point of rioting, hired a coach that wasn't better then .500 in the WAC and lost their 2nd WR coach in a month all of which has been pointed out time and time again on vol boards because of the negativity here?

I not blaming anyone I just believe it hurt recruiting. 8-5 9-4 is because we had a QB that had only played in a total of 2 full games until this year, and they went 9-4.I'll take that.

You're an idiot if you can't understand why kids are leaving...it's because of leaders of the program not a message board full of idiots. Hunter committed in May and decommitted in January after he witnessed the mass confusion that is LSU's coaching staff. frick Miles. I think LSU deserves a better return for 4M a year.

Nah, man. Can't be our fantastic coaching staff.

It's the horrible LSU fans on the internets.

I dont know how much it affects their decisions, but you'r nuts if you dont think recruits read these boards. I would love to read what a university's fans are saying about me if I showed interest in that school.
If they don't read them then their parents or friends do

negative talk on message boards concerning LSU offensive coordinator Gary Crowton and the quarterback situation.
Well, if they would coach better, manage the games better, communicate better, and utilize the talent better, there wouldn't be any negative talk. Don't blame the messenger, blame the one who's fault it is, the coaches. It's just silly to get mad at the fanbase for being upset about a mediocre product that is put on the field, and not put the blame where it squarely lies, on the head coach and offensive coordinator. They are both inept and in my mind, unqualified to be the LSU coaches.

What if it wasn't bullshite?

I hate to admit this, because I myself have been guilty of starting threads that were critical of Miles' clock management.

But, YES, it really and truly does. I know this for a fact.

There is a reason that tigerdroppings.com is not allowed to be viewed an any building on campus that deals directly with athletes, primarily the football office among other places.

Go ahead and bash away. I don't care.

The disfunction we saw on offense coupled with the time management blunders have done far more harm than people bitching about it on the internet. I agree some people go too far but to say that we should all just sit in the back and keep or mouth shuts is ridiculous. I know its hard for the overzealous optimist fans like the dandy one to accept but its the truth. Things aren't good right now and just because you believe things will get better does not mean they will.Until LSU actually shows improvement on offense don't expect big time players from out of state to come here.

I agree. Athletes are not stupid. They know what they see when they watch the games. They don't NEED message board posters to interpret what they see.

Do you people really think these kids get an epiphany while reading this board?

Hell, watching LSU play this season stands on its own, they don't need play by play. If you think message board posters are the only ones who see that LSU as a program is in trouble you are very very mistaken.

Players also understand what its like to be part of a team and a program and they understand the ups and downs and the effort, the successes, the failures..... Many "fans" do not.

if you don't think the recruits believe and react to what is said negatively on this board, then why do the ranturds keep bashing away?

most of the ranturd comments on here are not constructive. just repeats of negative comments.

there is a cancer in lsu football and it is the ranturds.

I believe you are wrong about that. These kids are looking at choosing their school as the most important decision they will make for their future--especially the good ones. There are many good options for them out there. These kids are really nervous about this and do not like to hear anything negative about their school of choice. I live in Texas and in talking to several football fans here (not LSU but Texas and others) they think LSU is one of the top programs in the country. One kid told me after Texas, his favorite team is LSU and this kid lives in Austin.

The other point I want to make is that if you think the powers that be at LSU are going to make a coaching change because you keep on bitching on this board you are not very smart. I personally would like to see this board stop any more postings about Coaches Miles and Crowton. It gets very old.

The solution to the allegation that recruits change their commitment based upon message board feedback is really a simple one....

remove or change the product that gives rise to the critics..

So in the end, it all gets back to what is happening in the program.

Does anyone remember when Saban described the LSU fanbase as having "catastrophe syndrome?" This is exactly what he's referring to, and he couldn't be more right. We freak out like no other fan base, and if I were a player and have been checking up on TD the past month or so, I'd think twice about the future of the program too. We need to support our team and be as positive as we can.

1) Who is Dandy Don?
2) Free speech is destroying the LSU football team?

3) Is it becasue we want the best for our team and won't settle for less? Bad pun didn't mean it that way

Nah. All fan bases do this. Did you read some of the posts that were brought here from a Florida board once Billy Gonzales left? I wish I had bookmarked it, classic.

"Meyer has lost control of the program", "Im not going to sit back and watch us go down the tubes, etc".... 3 months later, they'll have the #1 recruiting class. All fans are miserable assholes.

So let me understand your logic. These kids are about to make one of the biggest decision they will ever make and you think negative comments from anonymous posters on the internet will cause them to go elsewhere?

Let me repeat. I don't want anyone at LSU who would make such a huge decision based on anonymous posters' opinions.

I don't want recruits here at LSU who will trust what is said on the internet over coaches, trusted advisers, parents, etc. That tells me they aren't too bright.

It is because of this type of thinking that is hurting. Yes the Coach has a lot to do with it but at the same time the Fans can hurt also. If you had a child and where reading what fans had to say about the School you wanted to go to don't you think it would have something to say about that School.

Whether we get a new Coach or not the only way that a program is going to stay competitive is by recruiting and everyone on this board keeps up the negativity it is going to hurt the next Coach that come to LSU, so let's do what we can to help in recriuting. If the problem is Coaching whether we get good talent or not is not going to that Coach be a better Coach it is going to show out more. We have Miles for another year so get over it so that we at least stay competitive through our recriuting, OK!

Although improvement is needed on the field, its NOT as bad as "fans" make it out to be.
a large portion of "fans" hysterics are overeaction, perception, lack of fact/knowledge, feelings of entitlement, inflated sense of self, assumption, etc...

its like a contagious disease that has infected the LSU fanbase and shows no sign of slowing down.

the way LSU chicken littles assume the worst instead of being rational and logical would be comical if it wasnt so assinine.
