i think chavis' plan once we got a lead, was to back the corners off enticing wv to check off and take the underneath/short stuff knowing at some point in the drive, they were going to make a mistake, we were going to get a sack or the db's were going to make a play. which is exactly what happened.

many people never realize that coordinators don't operate in a vacuum. if your punter sucks, that affects what you do defensively. if your return game sucks, that affects what you do offensively. chavis saw that we were moving the ball and pinning them deep on punts. based on that, no need to bring the house especially when you have a lead.
