Couple of LSU BB players who will make noise this year

Aundre Hyatt and Courtese Cooper were on LSU's roster last season, however did not play and therefore redshirted. Cooper was a JC transfer with good credentials. I don't know why he didn't play unless he was hurt.
Hyatt on the other hand was a talented freshman who sat because he was nursing an injury and should be ready to go this season.
Check out their highlights:

Heard Hyatt is pretty good. May be our go-to shooter....
Heard Cooper is....not good. Hopefully thats not true.

I think Hyatt is going to play a role.
I'm not expecting much out of Cooper. He was a deep prospect that probably had just enough athletic potential to at least warrant a look, but I don't know if he's a guy you're going to count on to give you important minutes next season.

I don't think he will be much of a scorer but he has very good length and should be a descent shot blocker. One thing about Wade I've noticed, if someone isn't improving and can contribute to the team, they don't stay very long. I'd imagine if Cooper isn't improving he would have already cut him. It's gonna be tough playing next season with one player any good that's over 6'6" tall. It can be done, I mean they can be successful with a lineup of 6'9", 6'6", 6'5", 6'4", 6'4" and 6'6" reserves. But they must play together and with great chemistry. Can't afford to be a bad 3 point shooting team either.

The thing I like about Cooper is he is 6'8" and shoots 55% overall and 40% from outside the arc and seems to have shot blocking skills. He is pretty thin, but I am hoping he will bulk up some so he is able to compete down low.

They will make up with lack of size down low with some serious length on the perimeter and just all around athleticism. I think you will see LSU run a lot this year and press more frequently if they can get enough contributing depth.

We had stretches in many games this year with a lineup about that size and were very successful with it. Sure we could use a tall rim protector but Williams and Days can hold their own with SEC bigs, they did it many times.

It’s been reported a bunch of times that he has gained 25 lbs since arriving on campus

Will Wade thinks Cooper can help us. That should be good enough for us. Do not question Will Wade.

Agreed. I just hope they start hitting those 3's consistently. I'm also wondering, with Kansas, NC State, Louisville and Arizona being notified of coming allegations against them if this will have any affect on current recruits or signees?

Cooper does have some nice touch around the basket. He needs to continue to gain weight and strength to add to his paint presence, and work on his 3 point shot. It's hard to say how much help he will be this year because no one has seen much of him during his developmental red shirt year. Hope he can show good progress, but I do trust Wade and his process!!
