Could LSU make more money as an independent?

Notre Dame seems to do well enough to refuse repeated invitations to join various conferences. I think LSU's brand attracts a similar number of eyeballs (though maybe I'm biased). I know it would screw up scheduling all the other sports, but I'm sure we could affiliate with the Big 12 or ACC for those. Not suggesting it's a good idea. But maybe it's not a bad idea.

No. And these dumb arse questions need to stop, it’s not going to happen.

One of the problems is we wouldn't be able to trick another conference into being in for everything but football like Notre Dame did to the ACC.

We wouldn’t get a stand alone tv deal and people wouldn’t want to play us. ND is finding that out now themselves

Not very likely they make more as an independent . Possible, but that would mean conferences are dead. If LSU were to somehow sign a streaming/media rights deal that pays them more than their share of the SEC income, then Alabama, Texas, UGA, Tennessee, Texas A&M would negotiate for even more if LSU set the market.

Unless we signed a ridiculous deal with Amazon/Netflix or the Saudi Wealth Fund then no
