Only if he can find him the mental skills to go with the physical skills.

Yes if,

we implement a sophisticated enough passing attack that allows the talents of the QB and WRs to show itself more often.

No. He simply doesn't have the tools to be elite. He is average at best. I'm sorry. Nothing against the young man.

Harris needs to learn the to put touch on the balls in the short passing game. His deep ball accuracy is actually unreal for his age

I honestly don't think Harris is as bad as this board makes him out to be. He has a lot of natural gifts and I could totally see him putting it all together in 1 year just like Mettenberger did.

well I dunno, if he starts going through progressions and check downs instead of going for the flash play, then I'd put that on coaching.

In college football QBs don't really go through progressions. Generally, plays are called with a single read.

The use of the middle of the field via crossing patterns will be the biggest improvement along with true combo routes to take advantage of our athletes.

This. I think especially in our offense that it's part of the "check with me" approach. I think when we line up on passing downs, Harris checks to the sideline and they call what they think is the best matchup on the field for him to throw too.

I think Harris would improve immensely next year with Cam and Les as well as with Jimbo. Maturity at the QB position is huge.

Me too. I think Jimbo could make Harris and Jennings both good quarterbacks. I think our QB struggles come from the coaching staff putting too much pressure on the passing game.

You mean throw it as far as he can and wait for his receiver to outjump the defender?

Improved QB coaching because Harris has a lot of work to do.

Much more open offense. His teams throw it 30 times a game on average. They are mostly in shotgun 3 wide 1 TE. They used a lot of two back set earlier in the year when the #2 RB was healthy. I love his style of offense and with experienced QBs, WRs, and RBs, if Jimbo does come here, it will be an almost seamless transition.

This isn't even remotely true. High school quarterbacks are taught to go through progressions.

A good QB will know what is best option is before the snap by reading the coverage. When the ball is snapped he will know immediately if the coverage he read was disguised or not. It it's not he hits his first option. If it is disguised he checks down to his second and if the second option is covered he'll be lucky to hit his third. More likely he will be sacked or try to escape the pocket or throw the ball away.

This is the basics bro. If you don't know this, you don't know anything about offensive football.

Because next year everybody is back. With good coaching LSU should be a playoff team.
