I stated that they are "looking at" Fiesta. To further explain, for all of you that have no reading comprehesion, OSU is eligible for Fiesta if the scenario described gets played out.

what in the frick are you talking about ?? you said if OSU beats OU and texas beats nebraska, OSU is looking at the fiesta ... what are you doing now ?? playing on words ?

I am not stating that they will, IN FACT, go to the Fiesta Bowl, only that the Cotton Bowl might not be their best option

once again, read your own post

I also realize that TCU, Cincy and Boise come into play for BCS bowls

TCU gets the non-BCS automatic bid .. cincy-pitt winner gets the big east auto bid .. loser prolly gets in the BCS .. boise is still in play ..

Would have to beat Arkansas first. I have no doubt we will finish second in this game with our IDIOT coach! We will end up 4-4 and 4th in the west and will probably end up in the Music City Bowl or Liberty Bowl. With our lack of pash rush Ryan Mallet will throw for 400 yards on us and put up at least 45 points. I hope I am wrong but I can't see up even being competitive in this game. The players have no confidence in Miles or Gary Crowton and why should they.

He said an "at large" BCS bid.

Iowa, Penn St, Ok St will be fighting for a BCS at large spot.

No, big east will get their auto bid and that's it. It comes down to the $$$...Penn St goes above the loser of Cinci/Pitt easily.

I understand completely. I also understand that most SEC fans would expect that the Sugar Bowl would more than likely take FLA/ALA loser even though they are no longer obligated

the loser of the alabama-florida game will likely end up in the top 4 BCS, giving them an automatic at-large bid .. this is how we got in in 2006 ... how would OSU at BCS #12 be attractive over people above them exactly ? what kind of a bump do you think they are going to get beating oklahoma exactly ? they are 6-5 and unranked ...

sounds like fact to me .. what would OSU be "looking at" exactly in your play on words CYA-fest here ?? would they be weighing out accepting a BCS over the holiday or cotton bowls ?

iowa and penn state have to finish in the BCS top 14 to be considered ... if pitt upsets cincy in a tight tight ball game .. cincy might fall to #7 ... no way the BCS takes a two-loss team over a one-loss team 6 or 7 spots behind them in the BCS ..

No, only that it is still possible that they get a BCS "AT LARGE" bid. Try not to be such an arse.

Both are in the top 14 with their seasons over and I'd be pretty surprised if they got jumped.

I think you're out of your element on this thread Rag, FWIW.

no, you stated it in the context of if OSU beats OU, they are looking at going to the fiesta bowl and would not be available for the cotton bowl .. don't blame me for your wording ..

Cincy would get hammered in the rankings - they'd fall to closer to 10. Not to mention the Cincy fanbase is...? Pretty small...don't know how much revenue they'd bring in.

Rag, it's purely about the money. Last year they took a 2 loss OSU team over an undefeated Boise St team that was ranked higher.

The good thing going for Ok St in this discussion is that the Fiesta has that Big12 tie in. Of course this is for an At-Large spot, but it could be a situation like where the Rose prefers a certain conference over another. Other than that it will be either Penn St or Iowa against Boise.

You said they need to be in the top 14 in the BCS standings to be eligible for selection. They already are. So who the frick would jump them to push them out of the top 14 and no longer be eligible?

I did. And, in that context, it means that it's a possibility. "Looking at" does not mean "in fact, without a doubt, put your house on it, absolutely" going. My wording is fine; however, you reading comprehension is questionable.

circular arguments ?? what in the frick are you talking about .. circular arguments would imply bias which is exactly what you are doing .. manipulating the conversation to get a second big ten school in the BCS ... if cincy beats pitt, the big ten has ZERO chance of getting another team in ... if you drop penn state and just go with iowa in the conversation you are somewhat more credible since they are ranked ahead of penn state, #10 in the computers and beat penn state ... the BCS bowl games have an obligation to somewhat protect the integrity of the system that is lining its pockets ... they aren't going to pick penn state over boise state in the fiesta just because penn state will allegedly bring more people ... and don't start the TV ratings crap either ...
