Its too early preseason to compare Les Miles to other coaches, yet. Les still have some to grow.

Granted, but what if he doesn't? For the last two years he has made at least one major blunder - like Malveto in 2008, like failure to utilize and develop available talent and tolerating a 112th ranked offense and the Ole Miss debacle. Excuse me for being nervous, but what does 2010 hold?

I would say that is the concern of 90% of Tiger fans. I didn't say I had a lot of faith but Les, like all people has time to grow and develop as a coach.

Two years ago is when you disappeared in the rectum of the nurse changing your bed pan, Grandpa Simpson. Les doesn't have the coaches around him to win a NC right now.

Sammich, your hate for the midget in Tuscaloosa has blinded you to the reality that losing 4 games, with 4 non conference gimmes on the schedule is not mediocre.

Sad.

How so? What fact is brough to the forefront for you to make such a statement?

I this similiar to when you said it might not be bad to lose Spencer Ware, when the false injury was reported on TD.com?

I don't remember the specifics of that thread so I really can't comment on it. Losing any recruit is BAD. Its those who you replace them with that makes it a deal breaker or not. I would have to know the context.

laughable to suggest that LSU is currently a mediocre level program

It might or might not be currently, but by the time we get rid of Miles, it will be.

Also laughable to suggest that Rantards wouldn't expect a new coach to turn LSU into a national contender overnight.

Manieri took a year and half to get things turned around and didn't catch much heat before that. Trent Johnson has taken two years so far and isn't under any real heat. Fans understand that when a new coach has a big mess to clean up, it takes time.

Frankly, the only thing that's laughable is the ridiculous criticism of one of the best fan bases in college sports, especially football. By any measurable criteria (attendance, merchandise sales, documented opinion polls of other coaches, media, fans, etc.), LSU football fans have ranked higher than our teams have on the field in probably 40+ of the last 50 years. Even the amazing performance of our baseball program over the last 20 years has been topped by the fans' "performance" in such criteria.

Want a comparison?

Les is not a drama queen like Urban Meyer, doesn't tell bold face lies like Saban, doesn't cry to the media b/c his team isn't properly ranked like Bob Stoops, and he can win the BIG games unlike Jim Tressel.

As if you have a clue what the coaches at LSU can do!

Tell us your playing and coaching experience that allows you to slam a staff coaching at an SEC school, having years of experience, and headed by a dude with a NC?

You are why LSU fans get laughed at by other SEC fans. You think you know SEC football when you are really nothing more than a clueless wantabee coach.

Wrong. YOU are why LSU fans are being laughed at by the whole nation. Visit any message board and ask an opinion of the state of LSU football with its current coach.

Do it old fella.

This position has never made a great deal of sense to me. If that argument were correct, no fan would ever be able to criticize any coach. Yet LSU fans have often been prophetic in their criticism of coaches. For example, early in 1998, many LSU boosters were concerned about the lackluster play of the defense under Tepper. Ultimately, a miserable season proved them to be correct. And certainly it required no special expertise to determine that Curley Hallman was a moron. More recently, many posters here foresaw that the "Maleveto" experiment would be a abject failure. Frankly, I don't think that coaching football is tantamount to advanced physics. It's pretty accessible. Fans should be permitted to criticize if they have a rational basis for doing so.

He doesn't have anything to prove to fairweather dickheads who can't see that returning to the top 20 as we did THIS YEAR was program movement up and not down or sideways.

I have to say that I think Bobby has had some crappy luck over the last few years with inuries, blown calls by the ref's, and the alignment of the stars for Boise State. With that being said he's played in 3 NC's and lost 2 of them. Quite honestly he was man-handled in those 2 losses. Hell, I can't remember when they last won a bowl game.

lol it was only umm 5 months ago.

Lol at "Pete Carroll stillcouldn't win" USC only has the 3rd best record in college football during his tenure

I-D-I-O-T!!!
Playing & coaching experience has nothing to do with evaluating a program. Hell, I've never been in politics, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see that Big O is running this country to shite. Pretty much the same with CLM.

And Roger summed up your huge fail on the perception by other fans. You're very delusional if you think the realist Tigers are the ones that are laughed at. You Miles-lovers are right next to Miles as the laughing stock of CFB. Why else would every other SEC team badly hope that Miles stays at LSU??? b/c they can see what's happened the past 2 years & are realistic that there is no reason it will change

Why do you care? There is one SEC school who has done more in football in the last 5 yrs than LSU. frick the rest of them. I don't give a shite what they think.

When u leave HS, what others think will not be so important to u, kid.

LSU has lost two straight games to Alabama because Alabama has had better play at QB in those two games. Getting good play at the QB position is a critical aspect of coaching, and Les Miles needs to demonstrate that he, and his staff, are as good at getting good play from the QB as Saban, and his staff, are before LSU will be beating Alabama.

In those games? Possibly. McElroy missed a shite ton of wide open receivers in the last game vs LSU, including a couple potential TD's. The game could have been much worse. I say Bama won despite having a crappy QB.
