I've always preferred college ball. I follow the Saints, love it when they do well, but my week is not better or worse depending on the outcome of their game.

It's pretty much always been that way for me too. Even as a young lad, I always live/breathed LSU football. Pro's were always second.

Guys my age will remember this. Back in 70's, you got exactly ONE college game on TV. That's right. ONE. So, to see a few LSU plays, what you did was watch this 30 minute highlight show that came on at 10:00 am Sunday. I can't remember the hosts name, but I can see his face. If we were lucky, we'd see two or three carries from Terry Robiskie or Charles Alexander. And that was it.

Then, at some point, probably late 70's, you got one national game, and one regional game. Bottom line is that if you were lucky, you'd see LSU once a year on tv.

We lived in Metairie, then LaPlace, so we went to alot of games though.

College hands down. Watching the Saints play is great but I can't get as amped up for their regular season games as I do watching the Tigers play. Regular season in college means way more than NFL.

When a 9-7 team can win your championship, your league sucks. In the last six super Bowls, a 10-6 team has won twice (Giants, Packers). A 9-7 team won once (Giants) while a second 9-7 team lost by only 4 (Cardinals)--Cards beat a horrible 9-6-1 Philly team in the NFC championship that year.

In college, a 2-loss champion is a rarity though it may happen a bit more in the 4-team playoff.
