Cohesion amongst players & coaching staff

It was so refreshing seeing the cohesion not only on the field amongst the players but with the coaches as well. Too often in the recent past you would see players and coaches combative with each other, deer in the headlights look, no leadership, etc.
None of that happened yesterday. For the first game of the season, there was no doubt Lane was in charge and the entire team was a well oiled machine. Unbelievable for a first game with all of the offseason BS to boot.

This was actually my favorite part of the game last night. After four years of watching LSU Football in a leadership vacuum, it instilled a great sense of pride that this endeavor into which MILLIONS of dollars have been invested is being run with a sense of leadership, organization, shared values, common goals, etc.
Love it or hate it, college football became a multi-million dollar business a while ago. Some people will point to recent developments like NIL as when the transition started, but the wheels were in motion MANY years ago. The recent developments just make it more visible to the average observer by putting more of the money on the table to be seen.
So, if we are indeed heavily invested (in every sense of that word) in this business endeavor, it’s really good to see it being managed well. No matter the results, the effective management of this business is the absolute first building block.
