No they didn’t officially “steal” Neck from LSU. However, our band brought that song to the forefront of the college athletic scene and made it popular. So much so, that several other bands started playing it. It was synonymous with LSU for a while, as evidenced by Scott Van Pelt and others referring to it on his show.
