JJ has played TWO solid halves of football. Just repeat that a few times and let it sink in.

I was just thinking about posting this.

What was JJ in the Troy game 1 for 6 for 5 yds. He looked so bad they put JL back in. And these tards think he would be the sole reason we would beat Bama and Ga weeks earlier.

He. If he refers to QB play sure. I dont care who plays I just want solid QB play and JL was playing so bad in those games and if JJ comes in and throws a pick (or pick six) well it wouldnt have been much worse than what happend. Its all woulda shoulda coulda now, and we will never know.

But those 2 halves he looked really really good... if he can continue to develop, not take sacks, not fumble he is starter.

If it continues to be an issue the coaches will adress it.

I know second half vs Arkansas and GT were bad but the first half gave a reason for optimism.

yep mhm i mean he played a great 3 quarters against Arkansas but then the D imploded in that game so lets blame that on JJ. And then he was only the Peach Bowl MVP but I guess you only get the honor for only playing one solid half. I mean the second halves of those games were no wear near as good as the first halves, but hes a true fresh so its ok that he played bad in those two halves because our D sucked anyways and couldnt stop them.

Well to be fair
4/13 for less than 30 yards in second half

he did get mvp for his first half performance

Arkansas Stats btw in Second Half
2/4 39 yards 1 touchdown in 3rd Quarter
-7 yards on 3 carries

1/6 for 8 yards in 4th quarter
5 yards on 4 carries

yea well we werent babying him in that half and he was throwing passes more seasoned Qbs throw not a true fresh. And he couldve been 5/14 with a 110ish yards but a holding call wiped that out.

actually this isnt too far off...couple discretions.

quote:

yet you question our certainty that Jefferson will play well.

heisman and best qb in the sec next season based on two starts... is that overdoing it just a tad?
I say so.

quote:

And when they say it then you have comebacks like your stupid and should think before you type which doesnt really help your case or prove your point it just annoys people.

Im pretty sure most LSU fans realize that both JJ and JL will be needed this yr and that JJ talented as he is, isnt above the struggles that JL faced last season, as some of you so adamently deny.
I hate to tell you but you and doc and toothpick and whoever else that falls in line with their POV is not "most LSU fans"..b/c outside of this mess board I dont know anyone who thinks like yall.
quote:

you start saying how inexpirenced Jefferson is and all this other stuff about JJ
ok.... but its nothing that isnt true.
You may not want to hear what I say, but as I said it doesnt make it any less true.

I root for both players.
Why is it so hard for yall to do the same?
Espec after LM has already said both will play.

If your going to do that for 1 QB why not blame some penalities on the contributions JL could have made also?

I am saying its part of the game, you cant say well if this penalty wouldn't have happened.

So much woulda, shoulda, coulda on both sides of this debate...

Neither QB is polished, both are still young, both will still make mistakes, both will struggle.

The only thing you can hope is that the good things you saw from both QB's will be enhanced this year. That each QB worked on their mistakes and will make progress to succeed.

Have I disagreed with this?

I do believe JL will play and contribute, but I disagree with the extent your taking it too. Thats where my arugment in the matter lies. I feel your expectations on what Lee is going to do are far from what hes capable.

I didnt say it wasnt as in my post i said it gives a false illusion you dont want JJ starting.

Its not Ive already said I do. All I want is solid Qb play and whichever QB that is ill root for. Overcourse I will be hesitant when Lee steps on the field, but after last year can you blame me. Im not going to boo him, but i will hold my breath when he throws his first couple of passes.

i was referring to the Georgia and Alabama games.

The FACT that we win both of those games easily with any other QB in the last several decades; except for possibly jamie howard (on his worst day)warrants the death penalty (only joking)
But seriously, I don't care how freaggin good he ever looks in practice, we cant afford to put a guy in that psycholigically damaged. When one rewatches those games, things can be seen on a different level. Not only were there several other passes that could have pic 6's; but many were on plays that should have been touchdowns.
He has a pro release, and is capable of moving the ball, but does not have what it takes to win a championship. Herb Tyler, his freshman year, would have had that LSU squad ahead by two touchdowns in both games. That alone gives us a 10 win season with 2 victories against top 10 squads.

Dont do it Les. When pressure mounts, one cant float passes in the middle of the field in the SEC- ever. When a reciever breaks free on a route, you have to complete the throw, or at least overthrow it in the SEC.

When he becomes 3rd string- he should transfer to Tulane; perhaps he'll go pro.

Your also assuming JJ leads us to as many points that JL did. You will never know in reality how the season would have played out if JJ was QB.
Which is alot for a QB who did not throw for 200 yards in a game.
The fact you openly want JL to fail and transfer shows alot about your character also. What actual LSU fans these kids to fail and leave the program?

We were an 8-5 team last year no matter who would have been at QB between JJ/JL.

Same as every other thread...

JJ vs JL

People bashing JL blaming him for losses, people defend saying it wasn't all his fault.

Thread almost dies, then some idiot bumps it and it starts back again.

Same rehashed comments each time, same useless stats that neither side wants to recognize.

I really do not understand why this is a debate...

Both players will play, Crowton/Les will determine how much they play. Both are young, both will struggle, both will show flashes of why LSU recruited them.

I figured. That's why I never read this JJ/JL threads.

I'd rather talk about defense.

Anything is more interesting than this QB debate...

I would talk about who is going to be mascot than who is going to be QB.

till someone says something dumb and I jump back into this.

But when BT/The Doc/Toothpick among others jump back in it will jump straight back to what it was.

BTW: Who you think returns kick offs next year to improve our kick return yardage?
