.I think Williams is the best running back we have

i do also

but it's just easier to compare scott to cecil b/c they're similar runners with similar sizes and styles

keiland is a different breed of back

for the record, there is at least 1 NFL scout who gave KW a 1st round grade after the 2006 season. this is in response to all the people talking about cecil's (rumored) hype

Cecil is the closest I've ever seen to Bo.

My opinion might be slightly influenced by the fact that I grew up playing against Cecil, but I believe that had he been able to keep his nose clean off the field he would be enjoying a very, very successful career in the NFL. He was extremely difficult to tackle and just had the ability to find the hole and hit it hard. I don't think it's a stretch to say that had he done right, he'd be in the same company as Bo Jackson, Hershel Walker, and Emmitt Smith.

I thought of another good example. Take Rondell Mealey. Solid solid player and a guy who had games with stats similiar to Collins' games against MSU and AU. But no one would put him in Collins league. He was very good, but I don't think he would labeled as "special" as Collins was. Same with Alley Broussard...he had games BETTER than Collins, but certainly doesn't have the "it" factor that you mentioned earlier.

alley did

alley just played long enough for people to see him fall. cecil never had that b/c he didn't play at LSU long enough

and then everyone absolutely dismisses the rest of his sample, which did show this failure

No, I didn't want these years to impact my judgement...

I don't know man...I just never saw people staring at each other after watching Alley and just saying "...damn." I know that's not a very scientific example but you know what I mean. I never saw it with Faulk. Matter of fact, about the only other LSU athlete that I personally saw that drew this kind of reaction was Chris Jackson.

that ole miss game was pretty amazing, and after losing about 0.5 off his 40, he still had some big runs in 2006

but alley got hurt, and his game was affected. and he was hurt a LOT worse than collins. but people act like we can't look at collins after the injury

that's about right...I know plenty of fans of other SEC schools who will say Cecil is the best talent they saw at LSU (waste of talent, that is)

cecil and keiland are the only 2 Tiger backs that I can remember thinking they could go all the way any time they got the ball...

alley had that threat

and i'm not a big alley fan. he was well on his way to collins-status before he got hurt and everyone hated him last year

i'll tell you who i think is overrated in this regard...richard murphy. he's explosive, but he just doesn't look nearly as explosive as some would have you believe. some people really think he's our reggie bush

He was unquestionably great and unfortunately his contributions to LSU are going to be overlooked because we had so much talent to step up and replace him once his career started to go downhill. I just think he's a bit shy of the talent of a Keiland Williams or Cecil Collins..jmo.

just like how i brought up the VT game for keiland

in LIMITED time, SHARING CARRIES he put up a similar game to cecil's amazing performances

yeah, and cecil didn't share any carries with faulk or mealey

I see Murphy more as a guy who is going to get some tough yards on some good moves and a broken tackle vs. a home run hitter. Maybe a Toefield type guy

cecil had 27 carries against Auburn
cecil had 22 carries against MSU

keiland had 7 carries against VT

oh he's a lot more explosive than toefield. toefield was a 4.6, 220 lb power back

murphy's got a burst, but when he gets that seam he just doesn't do as much with it as a keiland or even scott (who is slower than murphy likely)
