Can someone answer where Hanigriff is getting his info?

Hanigriff gets a lot of info from the team and staff. Since he does the post-post game and the pre-pregame he gets a lot fed to him. He knows when not to burn a lead for the most part. I would not be surprised if CLM called him into the office and told him this stuff so he could dribble it out to the fans.

Les has to feed something to the media because without some info the scene would deteriorate into rampant speculation kinda like The Rant...

DeSean Smith & Jacoby Washington should be questioning what the coaches told them during the recruiting process. It's complete bullshite that we aren't using guys like this more.

Calm the hell down. Do you remember we haven't had a good hands TE since Dickson left? Sorry they didn't get a freshman TE the ball more last year in the OC's first year, with a 5th year senior who has grown with the two 1100 yard WRs he threw to last year. Our TEs have had terrible hands, hence, they were not reliable, hence, they were not thrown too.

Smith is lighter than last year (said himself that he was overweight last year), and has game experience. If you can't block well enough, you won't be on the field much as an LSU TE, or a TE in most leagues. Smith has also said similar things.

I fully expect him to be better this year, and get a lot of passes his way. Washington has yet to play, Smith was not ready. You are getting pissed on zero evidence, but what some guy said while practices are closed.

Yes, Hanigriff does have inside info and he is dead on. Charlie would not put this info out there if he did not know. He is legit.

I don't feel like he's physical enough yet. I think he'll see snaps as a 4th or 5th WR. He'll be the #1 guy next season.

What position is Dupre playing?? Wide Receiver. You don't have to be that physical at the WR spot. In the running game, WRs either run a clear out route or stalk block, and you don't have to be that physical to do that either. Sure, sometimes they crack on a LB, but that's typically your slot guy and I doubt we ask Dupre, Dural, QL, etc to crack. That would be someone like Diarse. We are gonna ask Dupre to go vertical and make plays over DBs, plays that our other WRs can't make.

And everyone is saying he needs to get bigger / isn't big enough to play right away... Yes he's bigger than AJ Green was as a freshman, and I don't think anyone is saying Green wasn't big enough to play as a freshman, where he had 963 yards and 8 TDs.

And Dupre has already added some weight with the summer program.

For comparison:

He def looks big enough to play to me. Is he a 225lbs+ WR like Julio or DT?? No. But he's big enough to play.

And before Dupre was injured, he was wowing everyone. Some said he was the most impressive freshman we have, along with LF and Adams. Now, he's banged up and not at 100% and people are questioning his ability to get off the line? Please.

Before he was hurt, the WRs that ran with the 1s were Dural, Dupre, and Diarse. Now that he's back at practice and close to being 100%, it's only a matter of time before he gets back with the 1s. He's gonna play a lot this year, and be a damn good playmaker for us. He's our most talented / naturally gifted WR on our team.

He's too talented to keep off the field, especially considering we return 1 WR with any experience and we have QBs with little / no experience as well. I see our top 3 WRs being Dural, Dupre, and Diarse. With Quinn and Chark seeing a lot of PT as well and gain some valuable experience.

He's dead on that no TE will catch more than 10 passes this year? How would anybody, much less some guy who gets second hand info, know something as precise as that?

Same shite every year. Can't every put it together to win 0 or lose just 1. This team has more talent than maybe all but 5 programs, where it's a draw. We lose 2,3, 4 every year. Team is just snake bitten.

just relax, and let the season play out. some "insiders" think, LSU may very well win the west, this year

In the OP, ItsThatDude12 states that Hanigriff said we wouldn't use the tight end again; would be surprised if any TE had 10+ catches. Somewhere on a later page, ItsThatDude12 attempted to clarify that Hanigriff really said something to the effect that he would believe we would throw more to the TEs when he saw it.

There is a world of difference between the two ideas expressed above. The first implies that he not only knows the players and coaches thoroughly, but knows what adjustments may evolve in the offense through the course of the season. It's a know it all statement that makes you look like a genius if the chips fall the right way, but is little more than an educated guess. The second idea is simply cautious skepticism based on previous years, but-- importantly-- admits that he doesn't really know.

Hanigriff may have inside knowledge and be highly credible, but neither statement regarding the TEs should be taken as gospel, especially given how much the offense has proved it can evolve in one year.

Fair enough?

This.

Sounds like Hanagriff went to practice or spoke to someone that saw some of a practice and just passed on what he heard while on the air. Because there have been a lot of reports that contradict what he has said.

Who knows though... we will find out soon!

funny how I can hear his voice saying all of this. I love his voice and work. He's an LSU staple in my mind for radio pre game and post game
