Could this be the middle relief guy we have been waiting for to turn us into a complete team? If he continues to do well I say his nickname should be "The Answer".

I want to see his offspeed pitches hit consistently before I believe this. You can't have one pitch, even though a 92 mph lefty is very nasty.

I wouldn't jump the gun, but having a hard throwing lefty would be nice. He just faced 3 batters. I'm sure this has certainly earned him a couple of chances in the middle of the week to prove that he can do it on a consistent basis. I sure hope he can because that could really be the spark this team needs heading to the end of the season.

I hope that he works out. I have to say, I saw him get pounded more than once in single A high school baseball.

WTF? HE just came in with the bases loaded and struck out 2 batters late in the game in SEC play (important game at that). Why hasnt he earned time on the weekend?

I like how people on here make judgements way tooo fast, after we lose a game, let alone the series to Tennessee, we are the worst team in America, and then when a pitcher gives us a hit, and strikes out two, he is crowned our savior,
We on the rant do this way to much

Key word "possibly" and phrase "could he be?" As far as the nickname, Matty Ice isn't original either.

IM sure better coaching plus increased strength can turn a super athlete like CJ into a pretty could college pitcher...

Please point out where I've said what he did wasn't HUGE...I'm just not jumping to conclusions that he is the savior of the baseball season. I said we need to see him in the mid week games to see if he can do it on a consistent basis.

I was impressed with his control. He came in and threw strikes. We have roster pitchers who haven't managed to do that this year. Way too soon to say he's the answer but I liked what he did today.
