1. Ed Orgeron, LSU
2017 Final Coach Ranking: 45
2018 Final Coach Ranking: 7
2019 Record: 15-0
His assistants might have received most of the credit, but Orgeron is an elite recruiter, phenomenal line coach, and was a perfect figurehead for one of the greatest seasons of all-time.
It wasn’t just a 15-0 national championship season; it was a dominant one with road wins at Alabama and Texas, and victories over Florida, Auburn, Texas A&M, Georgia, Oklahoma, and of course, for the whole ball of wax against Clemson. Orgeron was the tone-setter … “Geaux Tigers.”

5. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
6. Ken Niumatalolo, Navy
7. Scott Satterfield, Louisville
8. Troy Calhoun, Air Force
9. Ryan Day, Ohio State
10. Mark Stoops, Kentucky

Damn...when's the last time we didn't see Saban in a top ten coaches list?

I feel like this is some dream and I’m going to wake up any minute now.

only gets worse if O wins a title. perma ban bet that o doesnt win the sec title in the next 2 years? since you're so confident in O lets agree on that perma ban bet.

I'm glad stoops is getting a little love. What they did with the QB position this year was amazing.

What's really funny to me is that he was a huge Matt Canada fan after the fact.
"its funny how every o fanatics says give O time but are able to accurately judge Canada after 1 year while never having time to get players to run his offense."

whats the going rate for a 55 year old career dline coach that had never in his life proven he could run a successful side of the ball, let alone a program?
Apparently around 7 million....

Ok let’s talk about ideas. I live in a world of ideology. As it relates to the world of LSU football (while less significant in overall philosophy of life), ideally you don’t fire a guy for one who is worse on paper. Ideally you choose a proven replacement. Ideally you don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Ideally you have someone guaranteed better in hand before you let what you have go.
Don’t talk to me about ideas when you tout the worst coach in Ole Miss history as not only better than Les Miles, but the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ as HC of LSU football.
