CFB Week 4, 2013: A Reflection Of The "Bamafication" Of Our Favorite Sport

As I sit at home today on my recliner flipping through the channels I am becoming more and more disappointed: This season has been lackluster in terms of solid weekly matchups. Today's lineup is a reflection of this. Think about it...
Today's top game is LSU vs an unranked Auburn team, or Stanford vs ASU (a team that cheated its arse off for its current ranking).
Are we finally seeing the "Bamafication" of our favorite sport? In other words, are other teams outside of the traditional media darlings wising up to the fact that the key to a BCSNC is playing a terribly weak schedule?
Let's face it, that is what our favorite sport has become. Preseason rankings, bowl bids, and national title bids are all now rewarded to those who garner the most media praise with the weakest schedules.
Look at our front runners this year: Bama, OSU, L'ville and Oregon (to an extent) are all playing ridiculously weak schedules. Sad part is, everyone knows that one of the four teams I mentioned above has the luxury of knowing they can finish third in their conference, even with a weak schedule, and still play for the crystal.
I've heard chatter recently that the "playoff" will fix this. I say, "in your dreams". Media darlings like Bama, OSU, Mich, Oklahoma, ND, etc, will ALWAYS be in the title talk regardless of the cupcakes they play due to their brand. You will see 2011 all over again every year now with a brand team losing their biggest home game(s) and still getting into the "final four" on name alone. That's life, and like momma said, "Life isn't fair".
Personally, I'm glad LSU is willing to play a schedule like it played in 2011, 2012, 2013 and beyond. However, I literally DETEST fellow members of my fanbase who will rip our coach if he loses to a top 10 team on the road, while at the same time fellating the Bama coach the same week that his team is beating up on the 9-10 cupcakes that are on his schedule annually.
I hope my observation is wrong, but I really and truly believe we are going to see more "Week 4, 2013s" more often over the next few years....

TL;DR

I agree with you completely. It's a tough pill to swallow.
Also, I will add that there's just no reason that national title contenders should be playing teams like FIU and FAMU and running up the score relentlessly to garner "style points". frick these games and the system that provokes them.

Perhaps I shouldn't have been such a homer and put it from an LSU fan's perspective.
I am a fan of the sport overall, and like to plan entire Saturdays in the fall with the kids and wife watching games. Today was perfect because of the weather too.
Either way, it sucks for the sport as a whole. There are 25 ranked teams every week. There should be more matchups involving teams with a number before their name on the screen.
