you would have almost no load on your fingers at any point if you are lifting like him.

That’s a squat clean and it’s a much more technically difficult lift than a power clean. CEH is a beast, period

I noticed watching him last year that he uses the big offense of line to hide behind with his short height and is very patient and finding his hole to run through

I'm more concerned about his knees, that is raw power to be able to lift that after his arse touched the floor.

Like in a squat with good form, the knees do nothing but articulate. Anyone who tells you the squat is bad for knees is a horrible squatter or has bad knees already. The weight is managed by his quads (huge and strong), his hips (stable, mobile, strong), and his posterior chain (big and strong). That was a pretty textbook squat clean and he manages the weight easily. Hand placement is a matter of personal preference. If you want to a “clean” that looks horrible and should worry fans regarding elbow, wrist, and possible back injury go watch Barkley’s that made the rounds last year. His pure strength gets that weight up, his form is atrocious and hopefully someone works with him to get that corrected if he wants to continue to keep cleans as a part of his workouts
