Even though we beat JFF in his place and went toe to toe with Bama this past season. It must suck to let football make you that miserable.

poll seems accurate.

We will end up with 3 +/- 1 losses.

right in the teens at the end of the season with another bowl loss.

Another year of Miles being "great"

I would think that aTm being ranked number 1 would raise more eyebrows... but LSU is about where they should be, maybe even a bit high.

The media always dogs LSU...same song and dance

Meanwhile, Notre Dame had the "best" front seven around....well, we saw how well that turned out

LSU's losses on defense will be overstated...John Chavis is an excellent coordinator and we will reload...

The problem will still remain the offensive playcalling, but hopefully with another year under his belt, Mettenberger will start taking charge a little better...

But..wait wait....losing so many underclassmen is a good thing right?????

This is exactly where we should be with 2 regular season losses and a bowl loss to a purportedly much inferior Clemson team!!!

This is also a testiment to an overwhelming national consensus that, offsensively, LSU is in dire strait need of a "makeover" (OC, clock management, scheme, play calling etc)

This sends a great message to all our new starters for next year. Yes, the sports media does not respect our program or our head coach. Fine by me, let's run the table in 2013!

How is this poll shocking? Only those with LSU blinders on don't realize the impact that the Chick Fil A Bowl had.

LSU just finished the year ranked #14 in the nation. LSU loses a record number of underclassmen to the NFL draft. Most of those early entrees are defensive players. If you used the last 5 years as a measure, LSU's offense will finish next year ranked about #75 in the nation. Without all of those great defensive players, LSU could be in for trouble next year against the better teams in the country. LSU plays one of the toughest schudules in the nation (bridge schedules rule).

So why shouldn't LSU be ranked in the 14-20 range?

Of course, I'll be pulling for LSU to prove everyone wrong.

I think we will. I still believe even with losing all of those players that we will have enough talent to prove people wrong. I'm not looking into the Chickfila bowl too much since it was obvious that Clemson was much more up for that game than we were.

This is a direct result of not having an offensive coordinator. Alleva needs to step up and demand that a major, supposedly elite, program like LSU at least hire a damn OC, even a mediocre OC would be better than what we have. I can't believe there is not a bigger uprising among fans and the powers that be in the face of our demise!

Please list all of the years from 2008-2012 (5 seasons) that we have finished ranked ahead of Alabama in the final poll.
