lsu does not brake this policy...way too much to lose
he failed the test they give all of the players on the first day of practice, results dont come back for 10 days....look at the timeline

And what message is that? Hey kids, it's okay to screw up. If you show that you are very sorry, we'll only take away your scholarship, force you to sit out one year of football, force you to follow an abolute zero tolerance policy for the next year and the ensuing time on the team after reinstatement.
It's not one screw up. The kid failed AT LEAST 3 drug tests. He had every opportunity to get it figured out and didn't. It is amazing that you people think because it is the first incident the public hears about that it is the first time a player had run into problems. In reality, when the public hears about a failed drug test, it is because the player has failed at least 2 prior tests that were not disclosed. Clearly, TM thought he could do what he wanted and get away with it, to me that shows bigger problems than just one player.
ETA: By the way, in the real world, fail ONE drug test and see how long you keep your job.

let's just say "hypothetically" there were more test performed than maybe were reported officially.....in a hypothetical world...LSU tired of it...wanted to wash hands......expected him to transfer...he didn't......I can't make you drink man...I can lead you to it....but
You seriously need to post your source for this so we can remain in the presence of your stupidity.

WTF does this have to do with having the legal right to dismiss a player from a football team?
think it through....let's just say, hypothetically of course, that he was given numerous test that he failed....but LSU didn't report all...but LSU finally decides they have had enough and want him dismissed from team........think along legal terms if they have the ability to permanently dismiss him....having not reported...hypothetically of course........follow me a little here? work with me.....they totally expected him to transfer and not fight it.

FWIW, I believe a few other poster's opinions on the TM7 matter over VC, but...
it's not far-fetched to see how a player could get lawyers involved in this type of issue. We all know that LSU has a policy that plainly states that on your 3rd failed drug test you are suspended for 1 year. On a 4th, you are removed permantly. Perhaps TM7 got into more trouble than we speculate (LSU/Miles have never explained what rules TM7 broke), and the LSU administration (or Les Miles) decided to remove TM7 permantly. We know that he has never been suspeded for 1 full season, so perhaps a lawyer could argue that LSU isn't following it's own procedures.
Just a thought.

The players aren't tested by the football coaches
They are tested by the school, there's no way they hid some test failures, especially being on probation right now. If they got caught breaking their own policy the NCAA would hammer them.

It doesn't matter what we think. The policy states that a player is suspended for a year after the 3rd failed drug test. Of course I think he is stupid for continuing with his habit after the first failed test. But that means nothing.
Also if you are saying that he failed more than 3 tests, state your sources.

It's LSU's drug policy, they can kick the guy off the team after 1 failed test or after 7. They aren't required to report failed drug test to the NCAA. It's a school policy.
There is no legal problems with dimissing a kid. You are talking out of your arse.

hey we agree on something...
lot of players fail a test (LOT)....but the key is once you are caught, you got to stop.
