People calling to fire CPM obviously don't know this sport very well....he will have his sixth straight national seed worthy team this season, has 4 SEC titles, a NC, and has only made the whole program stay as an elite amongst the whole of college baseball for his entire tenure save the first couple years when he had to rebuild from the ground up it seemed. He's not going anywhere people. He's an elite coach who's kept this program at the very top for years now...you can't do much better than what he's done in his time here. It's hard to win in Omaha and you cannot just win the NC every season.... expectations here are honestly far past ridiculous.

Paul's floor is much higher than Les'
There isn't something special Paul is missing to win in Omaha. If you can coach teams to 20 win seasons in the SEC and coach guys TO Omaha. You are qualified to coach in Omaha. Why hasn't he won more. I'd say it's a combo of bad luck, bad moves on his part and some bad play by guys.
I just don't think there is something he is missing that is not allowing him to win. He can be quite insufferable though.

I mean... I get it. We've had some postseason struggles lately. Mainieri can be a bit of a jackass (like literally every Division 1 coach in any sport). But I don't see the point in perpetually honing in on Mainieri's deficiencies while completely ignoring the relative strength of the program and the strong position of this current team. I just don't get it. I expected this team to go to Omaha this year and I still do. Not sure why we can't just see it through

And in that same 10 year period, can you name any coach that has a better resume than Paul. If we're being realistic, you can't.
There are no more Skip Bertman's. The game has changed. And in that change, Paul has done as well or better than anyone else.
I'm not even a Paul fan(he does a lot of things that frustrate me), but all these anti-Paul posts the day after he wins the SEC championship are just bizarre. Did he not win the SEC good enough?

This is it in a nutshell. Baseball is an odd game. The best team on paper can lose at any given time. The best hitters in the world can go on month long slumps(despite great coaching). A great pitcher can lose the strike zone. ...people don't want to hear this, but quite a bit of baseball is luck

Thank God there is sanity and intelligence in some posts to deal with the Sports Bar Never Accomplished Much EXCEPT Think They are Experts Crowd. Manieri is not going anywhere because there is sanity in the LSU community instead of ranters making the decisions.
Manieri and The Tigers have met expectations so far this year as them and Florida were co favorites to win the SEC
