I think the point he made about teaching the team how to win was very valid, and actually made more sense after he related it to Notre Dame. If you saw the Michigan-ND game, the Irish defense just looked like they didn't know how to win a game. The guy that got beat in the endzone was a 5th year SR I'm pretty sure.

Juxtapose that to LSU over the past several years. I can't even count how many comebacks we've had in the 4th quarter.

Hmmm - that's a puzzler. I wonder what the short answer to your question is...

I remember back when Saban left MSU for Lsu. Rumor was any coach on his staff could join him at Lsu and none did. I'm not sure if this is true or not. If it is, its just another story to confirm while that Weasel can coach, hes a dirtbag for a human.

They sent the plane up to East Lansing to pick up any assistant who wanted to come to LSU. It left empty. Got to be a story there....

No question of Saban's intensity. Major Applewhite left saying, "I need a life '.

Down 10 in the NC game, LM, calm & collected, says, "No big deal, we've been here before ". We know the outcome.

Players & assistant coaches perception are often very different. Countless number of former players that landed a GA job that are now coaching in HS once they saw the "other " side.

I know somebody who played for Saban at Mich St and he adores him.

Big difference between the players and his assistants. Most of his players at LSU were very happy to play for him. The seasoned assistants couldn't get out of town fast enough, but many of the younger ones put up with him because of what it was doing for their careers.

First, nice praise for Miles by Feldman! I can't remember what player it was from LSU, but he was expected to be drafted into the NFL. Saban had left the year before for the Miami job. They asked this player in a pre-draft interview (think it was a lineman) if he wanted to get drafted by his former coach. He replied something to the effect that playing for Nick Saban for 4 years was enough.

Forgive yet another senile moment - meant to add, glad Feldman is free of ESPN. One of the few respected & creditable sports journalist around. Sure he is restricted for a period on what he can reveal, but can't wait till that agreement expires. He did a great job on the Leach book

He's lost less "little" games than Little Nicky. Maybe that's how he (little nicky) got his name... and not cause of his stature.

Saban has 2 championship rings and has resurrected 2 programs that are now 2 of the best in the nation. In fact, the only reason Miles is able to do what he does is because of the foundation Saban set. Will be forever grateful

LE on the knob like its his job, son. Doin work. Is it true Nick has hidden trap door under his desk just for this sort of thing?

No one said Saban isn't a hell of a coach, just that he is hard to work for.

Every coach has these games even Saban. And for the most part when Saban has won he has had superior talent especially on defense same as Les.

Oh, you mean like UAB? Or, I'll take out of conference upsets for $200 Alex and call ULM. How about losing to the Hawkeyes on the last play of the game, or to Matt Jones in another end of game fold by the DB's. I wish I could remember who the DB position coach was back then...

Miles came in and was on fire the first few years. He won alot of big games. The last 3 years we haven't won any big games with Title (SEC West, SEC) implications. We even had a chance to go to the Sugar Bowl and we blew that last year too. This is a big year for Les.
