That kid will be an elite player in the SEC by his Junior year. He has a bright future and stepped up as a Freshman, I wish him nothing but success.

That kid probably makes more than a lot of people here to play baseball now lol
Then why are so many people trying to coddle him like he’s a little leaguer?

I mean he should be. Sorry but he cost us the game. Winning should feel good and losing should feel bad. Y'all act like we should be coddling him and telling him it's alright.
There’s balance to be had here. He also had one of the only three runs yesterday and was a few feet from walking one off in the 9th. He’s simultaneously A reason we lost and A reason we were still in the game. It’s not “coddling” to admit that.
Starting Dutton was a terrible decision by Jay and was a big reason we ended up losing. Jump choked when coach handed him the ball to close it out. Pulling Ack for him turned out to be a bad move. Brown also had two poor plays on defense that resulted in guys getting into scoring position, both of whom scored. He definitely didn’t play well at all in the field. But it’s still true that he isn’t the only reason we lost. If Jump does his job, that catch never has to be made.
Brown needs to do a lot of work in the offseason. He can be a great player, but the defense needs to be fixed. He made multiple mistakes in the postseason and that can’t happen again next year.

Jake is one of my favorite players of this season and still is. Can’t wait to see him next year.

How do you know that? The players have been playing since T-Ball. They don't seem to be as emotional as fans who never played. I see both teams laughing and joking o the bases, while fans are so tight they are constipated.
He has a lot of games ahead to heal/forget the past.
