If you are in the Rainey Street area and don't want to drive out to the breweries, Craft Pride has a good selection of Texas craft beers on draft. I'm guessing probably 40 taps or so.... It's a pretty good little spot to hit.

Yes! Craft pride is a must if you’re near Rainey. As a bonus, you gotta get Via 313 pizza which is parked in their back patio area.

How could I forget Pinthouse?!

The Electric Jellyfish IPA is so good, but I also really like the Bearded Seal Stout on Nitro.

I may have to come up to Austin just to check out these breweries. Sounds awesome. Thanks for the write-up.

Family Business has an LSU connection as well. One of the guys involved used to bar tend at the Chimes. His sister married Jansen Ackles from Supernatural and they started it.

Live Oak is a very solid brewery, and can concur that their Hefe is top notch.

I wouldn’t travel all the way out for the Family Business brewery unless you were planning to go to the Hamilton pool reserve as well. Nice outdoor space and decent beer but nothing to knock your socks off in that brewery given the 30-40 minute drive from town

I might make the trip now because of this post.

I've never been, unfortunately, but I hear Jester King is great to visit. Best beers I've ever tasted are from them. Friend of mine is a generous fanatic.

It is so good! But you can also find it all around town if you don’t feel like driving out to near the airport. They have a neat disc golf course at the brewery.

well unfortunately, I wont be in Austin for the game. ill be 900 miles east. cant find that stuff in Ga.

Thanks a bunch for posting! Which ones are closest to downtown? I'm staying at Aloft on E 7th St.

Try Lazarus Brewing Co, 1902 E 6th St, Austin.
