The 2017 season has absolutely no bearing on the present.

Yesterday has no bearing on today. We can only limit ourselves to discussion of any and all LSU football developments in the foregoing 24 hours, operating on a rolling basis.

considered bashing him now.

Its as if never before on the rant has there been offseason discussions which featured disagreements or even bashing about the LSU football program.

And oh yeah, bashing in the season is ok, but never in the offseason. Like anyone here doesn't say what they want when they want.

Funny how everything you say is a fact. Just saying, go read some of your post. Otherwise you are a good poster

Things are different now. This coach we have deserves special treatment.

Well, that argument destroys their stance that the 2015 offense was so damn good.

It appears the 2015 offense everyone touts was smoke and mirrors.

I must have missed the thread or the posts where someone claimed that the 2015 offense was "so damn good." I have seen posts where people have claimed the the 2015 offense was ranked higher (39th vs 69th nationally and 4th vs 9th in the SEC in total offense) than the 2018 offense.

So I guess in your opinion, if the 2015 offense was "smoke and mirrors" then the 2018 offense must have been "smoke and mirrors" as well?

Good to know Roger. Glad we got that settled.

It's hilarious to watch many of those who whined and cried almost continuously about Les suddenly being vigorously opposed to the same thing being done to O.

Lets see, one had championships won for LSU and one doesn't.

Bashers now complaining about bashing. This is priceless.

It's really fun to watch all this play out.

3 short years ago: "Miles sucks! His offenses are crap!"

Today: "How dare you talk bad about o! He's doing the best he can!"

Which is why it doesn't matter.

Assigning no relevance to the past is foolhardy.

The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior.

Imagine if stockbrokers said something as ridiculous as the past doesn't matter or it has no bearing on the next day.

The real problem that causes all this complaining, whether or not it meets Red's approval, is that nothing is any different today with LSU game results than there was three years ago.

We all have one very good thing going for us. Alleva is gone. That by itself makes me happy and more content with LSU football.

In what world is Miles' 15-11 record considered better or on an improved trajectory over Eaux's 15-7?

No one is even saying the past controls the future or people that have made mistakes in the past are doomed to repeat them. It's just that you can't ignore the past simply because it's unpleasant. Part of maturity is dealing with the past in a constructive manner that benefits you in the future.

But shite, the entire premise in getting behind this coach was what?

"He's learned from his mistakes."

That's acknowledging that the past has an effect on his current behavior, whether or not we actually believe that he's learned from his mistakes.

Wrong

It's acknowledging the present isn't the same as the past.

He altered his behavior based on past events. How is that not an example of the past influencing the present and the future?

I love that you've chosen to die on this hill because it's really simple to pick apart your premise.
