Bo Pelini's resume as DC

Those are just ungodly numbers. Starting to get more and more fired up about a potential Bo hiring.

How stupid can you be to equate 13+ years ago DC performance to a completely different era of offenses he will face?

I get the feeling this account and the tigerunlimited account are one in the same. Just shitting on Aranda in every post they make

There's a couple of people on this board that were dead set on shitting on Aranda at any opportunity. CoachW being one of the biggest ones. Could be alters of him or someone else. Look at tigerunlimited's post history. Pretty much nothing but hate for Aranda

More than most on here it sounds like. I won't say that Aranda was a guy we had to keep to make the team great but to say he was a liability is out right insane. Our defense did what it needed to do in clutch moments when he was coaching. That's more important than any other stat someone throws out.

I liked Aranda a lot. He was crucial in helping us go 15-0.
But guess what, he isn't here anymore.

This thread is to remind people that if Pelini is indeed the choice, his track record was indeed stellar.

I'm not even sold on the choice of Pelini, actually. I do like that his track record is great and he was a pivotal part of us winning it all in 07 (see Tennessee SECCG and Ohio State BCS CG).

But yes it's been 13 years that he's been a DC. That does give me pause.

I would be fine with bo. IMO, whoever was our DC I knew we would be fine. Aranda was the right guy for the time. We needed someone who could do the most with the players given to him and I feel Aranda did that no matter who was playing each position. He did a fantastic job with the situation he was in i.e. head coaching changes, injuries, etc.

My thoughts are that if it's Pelini he will do just as well if not better because after getting that Natty recruiting should be even better on both sides of the ball. That will help Pelini, but I think him and Aranda are both elite at the type of defense they run.

For a good many years Aranda’s D bailed our arse out of a jam and kept us in games when our O couldn’t move the ball worth a shite. I don’t know if you have selective memory loss or are just fricking stupid, but Aranda was a hell of a DC for us. Look at how our D performed the last 4 games this season. They held EVERY team well below their season average for points, yards and 1st downs.
