LSU great Bo Campbell passed away last Saturday in Shreveport. I remember him well as he was one tough hombre who played on one of LSU's greatest teams, the 1961 Fighting Tigers. Here is a great article and a picture of Bo that will bring back memories for some of us older Tiger fans.

I believe he served on both the BoS and TAF. He was a very successful businessman and banker after his playing days, and donated a lot of his money and time back to LSU throughout his life.

Yes he did. He was a very generous man. I hunted with him a few times.

Had the pleasure to know him, great man, gentleman and gave lots of money and more importantly time and support for LSU. Generous and will be missed. RIP and prayers to his family

Bo became a very wealthy man.
But you would never know it by the entirely unpretentious manner he dealt with people. I never saw him when he was unkind or unapproachable, and he was usually smiling.
Once, after he had a series of land acquisitions (mostly for hunting and timber), he learned that the land was newly discovered to possess huge mineral reserves. When I started to chide him about it, he said over and over, "pure luck, man. I was just lucky."
Bo was a lucky man nearly his whole life, but the way he lived had a lot to do with his "pure luck".
RIP, Bo.

What a great philosophy to live by and teach your children !!

My dad always taught us that we were no better than anyone else – that we should treat everyone with respect and love

Yep, you are right on all accounts. He was a banker and apparently very successful and very generous to LSU.
