I have a friend close to the Miami program. He said Baker interviewed with lsu for the dc job. I would not like this hire because his playcalling duties was taken away midseason at Miami.

Baker coached at Louisiana Tech for 4 years. So I'm guessing because of the Louisiana ties.

Diaz had to personally get more involved with the defense midway through the season because Baker couldn't handle it.

You guys can do much better. Blake was very underwhelming for us this year. Statistically, our defense wasn't terrible, but we always seemed to fold when we needed a stop the most.

For instance, we lost the game against UNC because we let them convert on a 4th and 17 on the last drive of the game. We rushed 3 and gave Howell an hour to throw the ball, which allowed him to wait until someone finally came open.

Never mind the fact that Diaz had to get involved halfway through the season because our defense was not playing up to his standard.

Also, for what it's worth, everybody on our message boards are praying you guys hire him.

That should just go to show you how much of a downgrade he would be for your program.

He has ties to Texas and Louisiana. Could be a recruiting plus. But, I agree for DC he is not ready for the SEC yet.
LB coach could be a fit!

every fan base wants every coach fired. It is always the coaches fault.

That's fair. But our defense, up until last year, was the only thing UM fans could hang their hat on. Our offense has been awful for years, even in 2017 when we started 10-0. That record was only because of Diaz and the defense.

Last year, the defense cost us a couple games for the first time in years. Baker caught the heat because he was really the only thing that changed since our personnel was pretty much the same.
