Cannon was probably faster than Fournette

Yeah, Cannon was so fast, that on his Ole Piss punt return, the ref ran stride for stride with him down the sideline

There is no ref that could do that with LF

Speedy LF is faster than Cannon, but the Ole Miss game was played at night with 100% humidity and Cannon played both ways, vs. the line judge who was not winded from all the running. If you have the game film you will notice all the players are tire in the game and you see more team changes than normal games from that year.

I would put Alexander above Hill. Kid was in the running for the Heisman. And I don't think Faulk is over LF7. Just saying..

The raw talent of guys today is better than it was when only white guys were allowed to play.

I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering how many black kids would have crushed the stat leaders of yesterday... But they weren't allowed to play because they were black. How many gigantic lineman never saw a football field. And how many 4.3 40 guys, never touched a track or football field.

Glad things have changed to the point we get to see LF7 play and be a part of LSU!

That's just silly. He was a 230 lb running back with world class speed, in an era when sports nutrition, sports medicine, and year round training didn't exist. Give Cannon the kind of off the field preparation these guys have, and he'd excel at this level. Would he be the GOAT? Maybe not, but he'd be elite.

Bunch of newbees who do not know shite make negative comments about Cannon. This is like saying Y.A. was not that good either, STUPID

His 2007 season doesn't even rank in the top 10 ,at lsu, for single season rushing yards.

Dumbasses ! White boy Cannon would run over yo arse and not break stride. He ran a 9.5 hundred. He was a tough son 0f a _itch. You guys are too young to know shite and ya'll talk shite real good on here but the reality is Cannon "20" is still the man.

LF7 looks like a fast version of Adrian Peterson

Herschel: 10.23 100m
Peterson: 10.33 100m
Bo: 10.44 100m

Fournette: 10.68 100m

Yeah but to cut .4 secs off in a short period. Takes a hell of a lot.

Imo opinion I'd say he's 10.5

I think that's probably true. He worked on his speed all off season and definitely looks faster this season than last.

Also, I know that at least Peterson's 100m was wind aided. The others probably are too. They are all from high school. Hard to know how accurate they are.

Fournette is incredibly fast for his size, period.

There is more to football than just stats. You will never understand this. Hester was a beast in 2007. And fumbled only once his whole time here.

This is the most idiotic 4 page thread in TD.com history. There is NO way to compare the two other than that they both were RB's.
When Billy Cannon played the Tigers had a rotation of 3 separate platoons that went both Offense and Defense. Remember The Chinese Bandits (in which BC wasn't a part of). They were one of those platoons.
So many people forget the night of BC's famous punt return that it was his awesome defensive play that stopped Ole Miss from the Tiger 1 yard line at the end of the game. It was a herculean defensive stop that preserved the win.
This thread totally diminishes the real talent Billy Cannon was.

Sure, we all know you are The Golden Boy that has never done anything wrong. Can you possibly give him credit for what he did with his life after that? What he did for others?

Fournette will eventually be the clear #1 when he is done here.

He has already reached that point with me. He is the most impressive player that I've ever seen at LSU...I started following LSU in the late 70's.
