I don't mean what you are saying (more complicated O) by saying we need to be balanced and creative on offense. I mean we need to be less predictable, and less easy to plan for and to stop by good SECW Ds. We need to not run what our tendencies/formation/personnel say we are going to run in that situation. If they are giving us the middle of the field and short routes all game, we need to take that. If we don't have a QB that can make those throws, we need to get one and develop one. If we can't and the same problems repeat themselves over 8 years, then that's on the HC.

What I think most people mean when they are saying that we need to be more creative is that they want the offense to be less predictable. This is driven by the fact that we have so many looks that what we are doing can be determined by how we line up. In this regard, we've been too creative. FWIW I think the critical flaw in our offense is that we have no short to intermediate pass game. Our passing game is primarily 25+ yards down the field and this does not slow down a strong rush. Against a good d-line we need to get the ball out quicker and a long pass play just doesn't develop that quickly. Unfortunately, this is the area that Brandon Harris has struggled the most on.
