LSU needs to force PM's hand here and get rid of Javi. Seriously. If PM doesn't like it, he can pack his bags with his babysitter, idgaf.

I think it's more a case of Raph being so good even Javi couldn't frick him up.
Did you watch the last month of the season? It took him a while, but Javi got the job done. Batting averages don't drop 70 points in a month by accident, you know.

Joe Pennucci... serves as the team's recruiting coordinator. Pennucci also works with the hitters and is responsible for overall team defense, working individually with the infielders and catchers.
We can agree to disagree on the talent issue. We brought in Dunn and suddenly we had one of the better bullpens in the country, mostly with pitchers who were already here. I think the same would happen with a solid hitting coach and the talent they already have on next year's roster. If that coach can also improve recruiting for the next class, so much the better.

averaging .147 for the series w S Brook is unacceptable
No, it's not unacceptable. It's perfectly acceptable. And it'll be rewarded. LSU expects jack shite diddly from any coach in any sport. No matter how shitty he or she performs, no possibility of being fired. None whatsoever. Alleva is the fricking pussy of college sports. He'll never fire a coach because he's too god damned busy wringing out his tampon for the media about having to play big bad Florida in football.

Over the weekend, LSU had 15 total hits. SB pounded out 35 hits over the weekend. SB equaled our total weekend hits in just the last game, 15 hits.

"No talent", "shitty team". Odd that this team won the SEC, the toughest conference out there & 2 of the teams that are apparently going to Omaha we beat 2-3 on their home fields.SB simply got hot in the post season after playing a weak regular season schedule & outplayed us, & if you follow sports at all, that does happen. Katz,Raph & a few others just got in a slump at the wrong time of the year. Watch enough baseball at any level and that does happen a lot. Do we need a new hitting coach: I am not a professional player or coach.I'll let the experts make that decision & CPM is an expert.

He needs to do a MUCH Better job evaluating and recruiting guys who can hit. Yall are putting way to much emphasis on the coach and way too little on the recruiting.
steved obviously we need players with ability and potential but we also need someone to COACH.I don't care how good a kid is in high school its a whole different game in the SEC.Many kids never make the jump and adjustment.
If you couldn't see the difference in mechanics ,technique, and approach between us and SB hitters you don't know the game.Everyone certainly could see the difference in results.
Admittedly a FEW kids are so gifted that they can hit regardless of mechanics and technique but Coaching hitting is crucial to most players.
