While a concerning development, its far less risk to admit to a hiring mistake and cut ties quickly than hold onto someone in the hope that you can work things out over the long haul. One of the biggest leadership flaws is NOT admitting a hiring mistake and letting cancer grow inside the team. While none of us really know the facts, my intuition is this was not a capabilities concern, but clashing egos, not meshing well withe staff and team, and/or character flaw issues.

My point is with these folks as your primary decision makers, would you expect meaningful decisions to be made as regards the football program.
They are all hitched to and support the O wagon and its consequences (such as the forthcoming Canada buyout).
Fact: coffee shop guy that runs the BOS has no power or interest in pushing change
Fact: F King is an elitist academic who is in over his head
