Like Dr. J. Kareem, Wilt Chamberlain, Dr. J. George Gervin, David Thompson, Wes Unseld, Bob MacAdoo, George McGinnis, Elvin HAyes, Jo Jo White, Tiny Archibald, Jamal Wilks, Dennis Johnson, Artis Gilmore, etc. And the list goes on and on and on. He tore it up in he NBA too. Light years ahead his game.

I see a lot of John Williams in Simmon's trajectory. Of course Simmons has a much higher upside in every way. But John Williams was crazy smooth like Ben Simmons, could score at will when he chose to, could put the ball on the floor well, rebound, had great court sense etc. He was 6'8, played "point-forward" and was a great passer. We also used to get frustrated that he wouldn't just take over games, but then again he was on much deeper and experienced teams. He averaged 16,8 and 3.
Maravich was at a totally different level.
Chris Jackson was remorseless and a true killer. He'd put 55 on this LSU team.
Shaq was raw awe-inspiring, undeveloped talent.
Simmons reminds me of a more talented young John Williams than any of those guys.

John "Hot Plate" Williams actually had a nice post game, too, Pimp.
To the OP, I'll just say this: They named the building after Pete. They won't name a damn thing after Simmons.
